no i'm more like bummed that people don't stop to appreciate what's already out there and just consume tons of slop

[-] Anuttara@leminal.space 1 points 13 hours ago

kinda yeah. i know plenty of people who got help from this type of stuff. they do ayuascha retreat and sort through their shit and go on to do their thing. but nobody wants to hear about that, they wanna hear about the guy who got a dramatic psychosis.

it's awesome what we can create, like art. but then we live in this culture that's all about creating "content" and consuming it, really hungrily. Like yay, we get to create more but people appreciate it less.

has anyone u know gone thru shamanic healing?

people create some really awesome stuff. i saw a vid talked about the sublime in art, and it's like these grand sceneries that make you feel small as a human. and i've felt that in nature. in movies. like how long do you gotta really sink into that to be able to put it on paper or a screen? and then i get it when i see it? it's not just words.

There’s not really any point in trying to support religious magic healing at this point. People already believe in a gigantic amount of scam and have no critical thinking, and you start debating about the exact definition of what is a placebo effect even though it’s one of the only few bits of “critical thinking” knowledge that people have?

have you or has someone u know experienced something like this?

the sense of self isn't constant and is totally malleable! i've had these experiences where everything is me, so that's my brainwaves moving real slow. there's no real self, it's just if my brain decides to move fast or slow. identity isn't real.

How do I know if it's credible??

[-] Anuttara@leminal.space 8 points 3 months ago

who is the me the brain told that to tho lol

[-] Anuttara@leminal.space 3 points 3 months ago

who are they then? are they the brain?

like the brain is literally encased in the body so how can it be separate? like if you go around licking lamp posts you're going to pick up some germ that's gonna make you feel like crap and you get insomnia or fever and your brain will definitely be impacted. and so you'll have short temper and that'll get you into trouble.
