The United Front is a strategy employed by organizations which subordinate class struggle towards a specific goal--typically this is war goal: anti-Japan united front, anti-fascist united front, etc. It must temper itself to follow the revolutionary line, to know when to enter into alliances, and when the break them--"to fall back the better to leap forward;" to avoid the errors of opportunism, and outright capitulation... That's all good & obvious, but it leads to the corollary: why are we talking about an internet forum as if it were the Communist Party? It's not and can never be! You're just confusing terms here, 'digital class struggle' is an absurd concept, and whatever concrete truth this was amalgamated from has no bearing whatsoever on running an internet forum. Its like our organizing is so anemic, our practice so non-existent, that out of sheer desperation many would rather invent phantasms than to confront the daunting task of starting anew.

Any instance that lemmyworld thinks is made by anyone here or linked to Hexbear will be defederated by them immediately. I'm not convinced that they wouldn't defederate literally anything that is remotely leftist regardless of ties to us. They are incapable of tolerating anything to the left of them.

Leftist agitation only works to the extent you’re allowed to agitate. Since lemmy mods can choose to ban users and defederate instances arbitrarily, the ability to agitate is effectively eliminated. That’s a good thing for us, because it means we can keep our own instances free from right-wing trolls and agitators, but other instances are similarly insulated from outside interference.

Hexbears are busy trying to become the most isolated and insular community in the fediverse, which is basically the opposite of what you're suggesting. If you make it Hexbear will just defed from it anyway.

midwest.social exists? It's a left unity server afaik, and not even totally exclusively just midwest residents, nobody made me prove my address when I registered. It's also federated with many of the places that reflexively blocked Hexbear.

The local community is inactive/slow compared to Hexbear, which is why I hang here instead, but it's got good people and is worth checking out! jack@hexbear.net is the lifeblood of /c/ohio@midwest.social, so you know it's quality posting, even if the quantity sucks because it's not super active.
