Pretty sure I got them all down in under 48 hours. Now we wait. sisyphus

For whatever reason they keep putting them all up around the local elementary school. I'm probably making some kid waste their allowance while I get my cardio in.

Like we needed any more proof that Hexbears are rightwing. Look, they collect MAGA stickers for crying out loud!

Lol, yeah. I kinda wanna keep a trophy wall but I don't want my niblings to get the wrong impression.

Just need a proper framing device.

Like a big guillotine with the stickers in the head slot.

Seeing those torn down takes the sting off seeing my own stickerbomb attempts getting torn down

rat-salute-2 Yah, I really hope it ticks them off. I figure the quicker I can get them down, the more enraging and fruitless it is for them. The first time they put some new ones up within a few days each time but eventually gave up because I kept getting them down within a day or two. This was the most at once they've done and I'm pretty sure I got them all within the few blocks they covered. My only concern is they've started using a sharpie to write Trump 2024 and I'm hoping they don't switch over to that entirely. The isopropyl alcohol I tried didn't work. Think I'll have to cover it up with more sharpie.

Isopropyl alcohol works best on glossy, non-porous surfaces. Sharpies have ultra fine pigments that get into every pore and bleed to the surface really well. Get one of the MAGNUM chisel tip ones to make cover up faster and easier.

Yeah, they're writing on the back of signs and on telephone poles. I've got a king size sharpie that I hope'll do the trick but I'll keep the magnums in mind. Thanks!

Would acetone work any better?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh, nail polish remover is acetone, isn't it. I think I have some of that. Maybe give that a shot, thanks.

I don't know if it will work on those surfaces but, dry erase maker can get permanents to start lifting on some. Otherwise, big ass chisel tip.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I ended up going with the sharpie to cover it up.

Pure methanol should work, and failing that acetone. I use alcohol resistant markers for some work things and it's still possible to strip it.

Hmm, noted, thanks. I hate working with it, but I do have some xylene if it comes down to it.

Those stickers are bad and everyone involved in their design, manufacture, sale, and dispersal should feel bad

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Oh yeah, can't wait for the sticker/sign/flag arms race to heat up. hopefully the signs are structurally sound enough and the flags are warm enough for the litter of these useless signifiers to be materially useful to the unhoused

Gotta put my plastic blade scraper in my purse again... So sick of the dumb "I did that" Biden stickers at gas pumps around here.

Lol, indeed. I'm gonna order another couple handles off AliExpress in preparation, i think.
