He'd take a shot anywhere, as long as it comes with a testosterone chaser.

Jesse "the body" Ventura and Michele Bachmann would like a word.

Minnesota generally does okay, but there's a lot of idiot farmers out there frothing at the mouth to turn it red and dumb.

Don't most people everywhere, except those he has power over, think he's kind of an idiot goof?

Oh trust me, as someone who served and still has friends serving, most of them think he is an idiot too. He was kicked out at major for a reason. Even then, major is kind of the natural Peter Principle rank in the military and it takes more than fogging up a mirror to advanced past. He did not.

It's the "those he has power over" part that makes him far worse than just an idiot goof. His imbecilic antics are getting people maimed and killed, destroying careers, and empowering the worst scum in our society.

He absolutely ruined my career in the military, probably my life.

And even worse is i wasnt alone, and trump loyalists filled the slots near me and above. Its dog shit in there right now, blatant talking about politics and religion every day, its a mad house. Nothing like it should be.

Any investigation is likely to involve the House Oversight Committee, the Judiciary Committee and the Armed Services Committee and could revolve around last year’s “Signalgate” scandal, in which Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added to a group chat with senior Cabinet officials in which sensitive information was shared and discussed.

Clearly that is his greatest sin, not the extrajudicial executions of fishermen, the illegal war on Iran, or the ideological and prejudiced purges of the DoD. If he'd just had better opsec he'd be good.

Al Capone was taken down by Tax Evasion. You take the wins where you find them.

I'm sick and tired of this bullshit "factoid" Americans use to justify accepting fuck-ass outcomes. Capone served 8 years, and his criminal enterprise was even more violent and successful after he went away. If, and big fuckin if, Hegseth gets more than a slap on the wrist, he's going to get book deals and media appearances the rest of his life. What broke the actual criminal hold on Chicago wasn't "tax fraud," it was repealing prohibition. Almost like locking figureheads up does jack shit, and actually legislating away systemic issues does infinitely more. Go figure.

Doesn't it suck? That's what we mean when we say the criminal justice system is broken. It's intentionally lenient on the worst people.

Imagine being at work, about to get put on a PIP, and you think now is the time to apply for a promotion.

Dude should have to blow a breathalyzer to log in at work as it is.

He should be in a cell, not in public office. With no roids and no hair dye.

As a tennessean... Fuck Blackburn. She's not my senator. So the only time I've gotten to vote against her was for governor. Which I have.

I would say that any timeline where Kegsbreath resigns is a good one, but if this happens, it will be because Democrats do win the Senate, and he will bail before the new Congress is seated so the current Republicans can ram through a replacement.

So I'm worried about what even bigger goober might get the job

He thinks being in the Senate will save him? He'll be lucky if all he gets is a life sentence.

Truth. I don't even foresee him surviving impeachment, and that's just in the very short term. That and EFTA II are what got the House sent home a day early, but they'll be back right after the midterms, and that impeachment is still on the House floor. It is privileged, meaning the House must take it up within two legislative days: that got paused when Johnson sent everyone home, but as soon as they return the clock is ticking again.

These are the articles of impeachment, and none of them are without truth. Any one of them can force his ass out as SecDef. From a more detailed article:

Article I: Charges that Hegseth waged war with Iran with no declaration of war, claiming it was unlawful since it began in February.

Article II: Points to the war powers resolutions that have been passed in both chambers of Congress that directed the removal of U.S. forces from Iran. Both the House and the Senate are expected to vote on another war powers resolution this week.

Article III: Similar to the first two articles, but goes further on the 60-day termination under the 1973 War Powers Resolution and charges Hegseth with blowing past “mandatory statutory deadlines as discretionary.” The war has continued for nearly seven months and has continued to escalate after a fragile ceasefire fell apart.

Article IV: Claims the secretary ignored “laws that minimize civilian casualties.”

Article V: Points to at least 221 deaths caused by “replacing maritime law enforcement with unauthorized lethal military targeting of suspected drug traffickers” after an operation that targeted alleged drug traffickers off the coast of South America earlier this year.

Article VI: Cites the administration’s high-profile feud over free speech after Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) appeared in a video urging service members to refuse illegal orders. Hegseth called the video “seditious” and moved to strip Kelly of his rank and pension, though a court blocked the effort. The Pentagon appealed the block, with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals hearing oral arguments in May.

Article VII: Targets the capture of Maduro “without constitutional or legal authority.” Congressional Democrats and Republicans raised questions over the constitutionality of the raid and the implications around the world in briefings following the operation.

Article VIII: Claims strikes in Yemen also violated war powers reporting requirements, specifically pointing to civilian deaths.

    life sentence

Libs are so silly, thinking the system would hold powerful people accountable like that. Of course that's not going to happen. The worst thing he'd possibly face is losing his job, and maybe a fine or something.

These idiots forget the part where when you are kicked out of a government position for incompetence you are done not just changing roles.

It'll be interesting to see if they can just engineer a seat to come to him. If they can, our democracy is even more broken than we thought.

Hell they are engineering the SC seat for Lindsey Graham's sister. It's like the chairman of the board's daughter in 30 Rock, just complete idiot but still installed in that role due to family.
