It's genuinely insane that anyone is allowed to put that on a road

I think it is time to roll out the ICE Annihilator 9000 to defend all children everywhere in the name of Liam Conojo.

To be fair, it does look totally badass at first glance.

Reminds of those pictures I used to draw of future vehicles with more huge wheels and tracks and sections than necessary. And there were usually laser cannons and grappling hooks on them.

This specimen appears to have neither a laser turret nor giant robot crane claw or saws mounted on it, thus, unacceptable.

Take it away, it offends me.

I personally know a guy who owns one of these things. He's a mid-70s white guy who manages money. He lives in Washington DC. It's the ugliest fucking car I've ever seen.

I put aside my dislike for trucks that are used for commutes or even less than that but bpy, is that an ugly disfigured design, lacking any kind of proper proportions.

Luckily that Compensator 9000 is certainly not street legal in the EU.

Must be nice, lol. Unfortunately, in the US, most rules around the road legality of a vehicle are enforced during inspections, which not every state has. Even the states that have them have a really low cost on the inspection, so mechanics who do them are incentivized to just rubber stamp them.

Other than that, lots of problems are considered a "secondary offense", which means you won't be pulled over for it, but you can be ticketed for it if you are pulled over for another reason. Broadly, I dont think that's necessarily a bad policy, but it does have the effect where they end up being effectively unenforced unless the cop has a reason to want to hit you with the book.

In the EU enforcement of traffic rules is a matter of member states, but many rules are codified on EU level, at least for what is street legal. That abomination above violates the common rules already quite clearly. It is thinkable that one can grey import individual cars and get a custom license for that but even than some modifications will be required, but that depends on the local authorities. In any case it must be hard or expensive as you basically don't see that kind of nonsense on the streets.

If you are seen driving an obviously non-street legal car and can't come up with papers to the contrary your vehicle gets immediately grounded, towed and you can call a taxi. If you are a repeat offender chances are you could lose your drivers license and when you are driving without one consequences can get much worse.

But hey, you can still get an Aixam for your mobility needs without a drivers license: https://www.aixam.com/en/ They even sell "Crossovers" for those with increased compensation needs.

In the early 80s I would have thought this was the coolest thing and would have looked around, certain KITT must be nearby. I guess some people never grow out of the toddler fascination for BIG TRUCK.

Bit of a personal bone to pick, people like this make me feel cringe whenever I say I'm a pepper or have a firearm. Movies don't reflect reality, the world doesn't stop in a day, and if a single car collides with that behemoth, he'll probably wind up in deep debt.

Is the exterior 3d printed? This has such a powder printed look to it. Maybe it is just looking like that but in any case the interior appears to be comically small relative to the monstrous dimensions of that vehicle.

I stopped identifying as a prepper in 2020. When it actually happened, my family locked down and did exactly what we had planned for. We had masks in the emergency kit, food and water for weeks, books for the kids, you name it. I felt smart.

Until the other preppers exposed my naivete by just waltzing outside. Whatever, fuck them, I'm stocking up for the next pandemic. Next time, toilet paper.

A toy version of this at the age of 6 would be awesome.

A real version would be a nightmare.

In fairness I would have thought this looked cool... When I was 12.

However, it's almost a certainty that a "regular" truck could out perform this thing in every metric.

Its notoriously difficult to get the dual rear axles to provide a meaningful benefit to traction and even load capacity.

However, there will be a huge hit to economy, weight, acceleration, and handling.

In summary it would be an absolute pig to own.

    12

This is the key point. Most behaviour like this pretty much identical to twelve years kids wanting attention. I am going to guess anyone who wants to buy this has not receibed any real affection and attention from their parents.

    Agreed.

The only plus here is that things like that are becoming cost-prohibitive to drive thanks to the scarcity of fuel and subsequent price gouging, but I can't imagine the tiny peen syndrome required to make a vehicle like that attractive to a reasonable, grown man.

That's something I would have used for my game idea called "Evil Car", a car racing game, where you fuel cars with the blood of orphans, and tune them by sacrificing cute puppies and virgins to it.

I've never seen anything this ridiculous in person, but I've seen plenty of dumb trucks. Things like maybe lift kits and low profile tires, wheels kicked out to the side...so setup for off-road but with zero grip, shit turning radius, wobbles on the highway, and also shit for towing.

The one that kills me is $80k trucks in the trailer park. Spend your money how you want, but it seems crazy to have a rapidly depreciating vehicle that's worth more than your home.

There must me an easier way to prove how big your dick is.
