A couple of times a century you get the bell-bottoms
post
Low rise. High rise. Low rise. High rise. Die.
just went shopping with my niece and guess what, Flares are back - just like bsck then when I was 12
My high school son dresses pretty much exactly like I did at his age. The other day it was 90’s themed day at school and he was stopped in the hall to take pictures becuase his outfit was so spot on. He had completely forgotten it was 90’s day and just wore his usual attire — a nirvana t-shirt over a thermal long sleeve and a pair of jnco jeans. Kid shops for himself (summer job $$) and I crack a smile every time I see him come home with another thing that could have come from my 90’s wardrobe (except I never could afford name brands).

Give it a few more months and it'll be windbreakers and loud colors time.
clearly you're not into techno, if anything this is on the way back out
No, the 80s stay in the past where they belong
Ok, how about the humble swatch watch?

Fashion is fickle, develop your own style.
skinny jeans make my ass phat, baggy jeans could never
14 flights of stairs per day? You’re goddamn right I’m wearing skinny jeans. i’m 47, and my ass looks awesome.
Pics or it didn't happen
Good thing I only wear baggy, comfortable pants anymore. I found these[1] a few years ago and by now I own 6 pairs in different materials and, except for job interviews, weddings and funerals, wear them all year round. Not an ad btw, I just really love these pants.
So, I followed your link and my wife looks over and watches for a second, then says "Are you watching videos of men's crotches?". After a moment of self reflection the only response I have is "Yep."
I’m waiting for bellbottoms/flares to come back around. They were in when I was formativing and despite them never being in again since, and thus really hard to find, I never stopped wearing them because everything else sucks to me. Skinny jeans make my lower legs feel like they can’t breathe (have the exact same sensory problem with turtleneck and crew neck), and straight leg/boot cut bunch up in horribly uncomfortable ways, especially behind the knee.
Give me tight to the knee, and then big enough to cover my shoes without touching my legs ever again, please and thank you.
I'm the exact opposite, all my sensory problems are in my hips range of motion and groin, and I hate the sensation of rain / mud (or at work, bodily fluids) on the heel {especially if it's somewhat worn with hanging threads). High waist, baggy seat and crotch, and an inch or so short of skintight below the knee has been amazing.
I’m genuinely horrified at the thought of existing for a day in your preferences, no offense intended. I’m glad it works for you, but every single one of those features is an absolute dealbreaker for me, individually. Unless baggy means stretchy, which it probably doesn’t.
You can have all the bits I hate from my clothes.
I will say, though, I don’t have the problem you do with wet hems, because I exclusively wear knee socks made for winter sports, so nice and thick and wet-preventing. Why is that different than skinny pants? No idea, but it is.
I hate all jeans, they’re bad for my sensory issues
That's so interesting because I also have massive fabric sensitivity issues but denim is the only one that doesn't drive me crazy. So many differences between neurodivergent people.
What do you wear instead?
What did we do before denim was invented?
Skinny/baggy breeches, and before that, pantaloons. Go back far enough and you might find clay tablets with cuniform text criticizing the youth for wearing their skirts/kilts too tight or loose.
I'm waiting for the generation with the boldness to overturn the system with asymmetrical jeans: baggy high rise on one side, skinny low rise on the other.
how about reverse bootcut (baggy around the thigh, tight around the calf)
I've been waiting for skinny jeans to come back. I don't necessarily follow trends, but looks like they might be?
I was actually getting too fat for my skinny jeans anyway. Just made the switch back to baggy. Loving it so far. Time to cultivate mass.
Skinny jeans are uncfomy and hard to move in. I always wear baggy jeans anyway.
JNCO Jeans are back in style! Time to put away bell bottoms (both skinny and baggy).
You know what I can't tell with what anyone means by, "baggy." Though, I think that's the autism. Like do they mean one size up? Like what's the criteria for, "baggy?". Skinny jeans, I think slim fit jeans but I like relaxed fit jeans more than anything. Slim fit jeans are job interview pants or like first week on the job pants.
Then again, I've never liked skinny jeans or slim fit, makes me feel like I'm squished, like a sausage. I like the little bit of give.
