Same, I also remember a dude posting a pic of his cat hoping it's gonna be the last thing someone sees on the sub. Little did he know, he was right lol
I got into the sub way back cause it was the only place that not only supported Chelsea Manning's release but also no one fucking mis gendered or deadnamed her in the comments either.
I got into the sub because a right winger called me a chapo commie and I was intrigued
I got into the sub because I liked Bernie also I'm interminably online
i still cant believe some random post on like /r/conspiracy leaked the banning of so many subreddits
That was wild, but it was nice we all got to join in and go out posting.

Yep, I remember this. I was in the acceptance stage that we were definitely going to get nuked and just waiting for the inevitable, and seeing this post legit made me cry.

Seeing this in popular was how I found out the sub got banned. I took a screenshot too, I guess as a reminder of the absurdity of those bans.
Plus side is I use reddit like 90% less. Now and then I find myself getting sucked in to it and inadvertently expose myself to brain worms but it’s much easier to log off now.

Did AgainstHateSubreddits ever get into spats with r/chapo? I didn’t stick around for the later years of the sub but it sounds like something that would happen, maybe even accelerated the ban or something
We'd get linked there from time to time, and maybe 80% of those threads would get ignored, downvoted, or have someone explaining to the class why supporting Palestinians isn't hate. It was a lib sub but for the most part their hearts were in the right place.
