I can't imagine how one can screw up this bad.

If money is what they pursue, the literally best choice would be just not say anything and let Macklemore to speak up for Palestine. People would continue to attend events, money would continue to pour.

Whole business model ruined because of someone's poor ass being too sissy about political stance of one of the musicians.

Kraft wouldn't let them play venues. He's not poor, he's super rich and loves Israel.

I understand that the logistics of Ed Sheeran's tour cannot be scaled down quickly, but I doubt they wouldn't have found other venues.

A single gig with a barebone stage and nothing else would have been enough to tell Kraft to fuck off.

$65 is how much concert tickets should cost anyway

He could have picked the right side. Still would have ended the tour, but at least he'd have been on the right side.

If he sided with Macklemore and kraft forbade the tour, his entire management team would have been more than capable of using this enormous amount of publicity to refund tickets, sell new ones for a free Palestine tour for more money, more dates.

He really dropped the ball by simping for a billionaire.

Just like Dave Chappelle. Total sell out.

How so? I assume you watched a clip from his last special, out of context, which was intentionally designed to be misunderstood when out of context?

Edit: My comment is on the segment of his last special, where he is very clearly pro Palestine. However, if you remove the leading context, it sounds very much pro Israel. There are also more than a few clips circulating without that context.

chappelle's always been a sellout. he got fired from his show because he wanted a ridiculous amount more money and they said no, so he hid from everyone until enough people forgot about that and tried to do standup again. only he hadn't kept up since the 80s so it was bill cosby style standup.

You don't seem to have a good grasp on what ppl support through history. 1/3 of America supports a Republican party filled with rapists, child molesters, sex traffickers, theives, con men, habitually liars, narcissists, sadists and everything in between. Obedience through suffering is their entire life strategy. 1/3 of America supports them.

    1/3 of America supports them.

First-past-the-post gives one third of the population the chance to reach full legislative control.

You don’t seem to have a good grasp on what ppl support through history.

Most americans supported Israel until more recently. Propaganda is one hell of a drug.

I feel bad for those who bought tickets before this shitshow. Even if you intended to sell them off as a "fuck you" to Ed, you'd be stuck with them.

  • source
  • Good, hope they lose a ton of $$. Fuck Ed.

I am sad that "Beoga" has cancelled their small venue concert in Boston. I went looking for tickets when I noticed the play date on their YouTube channel.

He probably just did what most ppl do already and listened to the opinions of whoever around him he trusts on these issues. Celebrities are not advocates, politicians, or activists, those who got bad advice are gonna get fucked by the mob.

I guess not a single person he trusts on these issues had a problem with genocide then.

Assuming it was even brought up with anyone else. For all we know he wasn't even the one deciding or in the loop on it. Y'all are so rabid with your hatred because you can they to the thing you hate.

His own statement told us everything we needed to know. To be clear, Sheeran isn't the only one to blame, but unfortunately as the lead act and poster child of the tour, he's going to get the brunt of it.

Not a single other artist had any problem leaving the tour.

If your boss at work told you to pledge allegiance to the Nazi party, and you do it, who's to blame?

Ed had every ability to take the right side of this and HE chose not to.

You're right. If you had $400M and your boss asked you to stand up for genocide or you wouldn't get paid that week would you do it? Cause that's literally what this is . Guy is obscenely wealthy. Him not only not using his power to help others but actively fighting for the oppressor is not 'being neutral'. You want to hoard wealth? While claiming to be an artist? Gotta know there's a good chance at some point someone's gonna call you out
