The pineapple (Ananas comosus) is a tropical plant with an edible fruit; it is the most economically significant plant in the family Bromeliaceae.

The pineapple is native to South America, where it has been cultivated for many centuries. The introduction of the pineapple plant to Europe in the 17th century made it a significant cultural icon of luxury. Since the 1820s, pineapple has been commercially grown in greenhouses and many tropical plantations. The fruit, particularly its juice, has diverse uses in cuisines and desserts.

Pineapples grow as a small shrub; the individual flowers of the unpollinated plant fuse to form a multiple fruit. The plant normally propagates from the offset produced at the top of the fruit or from a side shoot, and typically matures within a year.

I love my mom but every time we talk about work and stuff I have to find new and unique ways to explain to her that I'm not interested in spending every single waking moment of my life earning money and I really just want to spend the minimum amount of time working so that I can buy food for me and my dog and pursue my hobbies and even stuff like my plan to add more certifications to my resume is really just me pursuing ways to reduce the number of hours per week I have to work to make just barely enough.

This is extremely relatable. I wish I could just be blunt about it, but then I'm like calling their entire life choices into question. Wish they were similarly reluctant to judge my life choices, but I guess that's parents for you

    I got married last night.

My partner and I have been living as though we were married for over a decade but haven't had the actual marriage license for various reasons. I'm going to have good insurance soon, so it makes sense to get married so my partner can be covered

We got married online by a service that uses the 1 county in the US that allows it. The guy who did the service was actually amazing. He seemed genuinely happy for us, didn't try to push any kind of particular process or religious stuff, and actually got a little teary eyed at the end.

    Congratulations!

My partner and I also lived as a basically married couple for over a decade before finally filing some paperwork a few years back, it's a fun trajectory for a relationship. Makes it interesting when people ask how long you've been together! Did you get rings? We still haven't because we're so lazy and cheap lol

We're also both cheap! It's basically the entire reason we did this. It's going to save us $200/month just in insurance premiums and will save us far more on out of pocket medical and dental costs.

We didn't get rings. We did buy engagement rings 15 years ago, but we almost never wore them so it doesn't make sense to do that again.

Great minds think alike! Unfortunately for me us getting married actually fucked up my ability to get insurance though, which is I guess more a statement on healthcare than marriage shrug-outta-hecks

It's fun having a complicated relationship timeline and no wedding ring though. It really confounds and confuses the people who can't conceive of a life path different from their own, which is always entertaining for me personally

complainingThird night in a row of not being able to sleep more than 15 minutes at a time because of this shoulder pain. It hurts way less than the last two nights but I still can't sleep through it. I am getting like fully angry and unhinged at this point, if this goes on many more nights you are going to see me on the news

2 easy things to make a movie better: opening credits over a theme score that leads into a prolonged ending im an inciting incendent and then dropping a title card before moving on. Open with a music video and then a big plot hook. Drop the name of the movie and then start it. You have just earned my attention.

That's it, I'm quitting reading lobsters, so many of these posts are about Losers Listening to Machines susie-baffled and politics is a bannable offense. This is barely better than Hacker News since you can't be obviously transphobic.

People are always having "sonas" that they can put in "situations", and I think that must kick so much ass. I wish I knew where to get one.

I get that it’s because I’m neurodivergent, but it kills a part of me that cartoonish political attack ads can really convince people to vote a certain way. It truly is celebrity culture all the way down for normies manhattan

If I were snake in mgs1 I would have just like...blown up shadow Moses as soon as I got c4. Rex needs to have a full supply. Or just attach a shitload of c4 to the rail gun instead of doing g the whole card key thing. Even not knowing thst acrually will activate it, id rather just make it bot work right then and there instead kf goong through all that. Bent rail gun =plan don't work

Did a spontaneous hair coloring. I had a full on super bright silver going, I lesrned how to mix my own hair dye snd kinda crushed it. Anyway, I tried doing the bottom layer of my bangs with the red hair mask I got in case I fucked up the silver. It came out amazing, I look so much like sn anime character. So im extending it to the full left side and back. I have at least a fee thousand people's dream haircut, silver the hedgehog with shadow style red highlights snd shaped like cloud from ff7. Cut and dye your own hair folks, it's legit not even hard and you can really make it your own look. I have fantastic hair for fucking around with but everyone could stand to customize their style more. Making cooler clothing out of thrifted and trashed clothes by learning rudimentary sewing and applying stencils before learning to screen print helps too. DIY mentality. You can learn anything

I live in the poorest part of my city, and just found out an apartment complex I walk past everyday is in the middle of a tenant strike against their Israeli slumlord. Even the people here I like I've met haven't read any actual leftist texts, so seeing people so close to me geographically take direct action is cool
