The thing is that bank don't store much cash anymore.

If you want cash and or item with a good resell value with low security, go for cigarette store, or a 24/7 "conveinience store", the kind of place where people pay in cash, which don't have complex security protocol and often only one worker.

And before I get charged for pushing for crime don't forget you'll most likely get caught and that in many legal system armed robbery is severely punished. Better being a far-right politician like Lepen, so you can steal 4 millions Euro and get an ankle monitor and the right to run for election.

How many bank robberies are there every year? How much money do they get away with on average? How many of the robbers got away because the silent alarm was not triggered?

Banks do have a shit ton of cameras. Mostly pointed at the employees, because that's where the highest risk is. But everywhere else, too.

For banks that have guards, they want to be as obvious as possible to act as a deterrent. Better to prevent a robbery than to investigate one after the fact.

Why do you think they don't?

Honestly, proper bank robberies are pretty rare. They're seen has high risk targets. And in the modern age, most branches do not carry much cash, anyway.

So in short, paying a guy to sit there costs them way more than they stand to lose via robberies.

Because once that guard sees a robbery is happening, all they're going to do is call the police anyway. Why pay a person to sit there all day long when the teller will trigger the alarm just as fast, if not faster?
