From what I've gathered it's kinda like Anarchism but you don't like/think traditional organizing and thing you can get to Anarchism through vibes or smth??? Does anyone know like, what it is? Do Post-Leftists know what Post-Leftism is???????

I have no idea about the theory behind it, but i can say with absolute certainty that every self-described post-leftist i have ever come across was an anticommunist wrecker with universally awful takes on literally any subject we unfortunately went over during our way too long and thoroughly horrible encounters.

I need to add that the sample size for that is absolutely tiny, this is fortunately an extremely fringe micro label hardly anybody uses, but i am extremely burnt on the handful of people who do.

stirner-cool The absence of theory behind Post-Leftism is the theory behind it.

"Woke" anarcho-capitalism, except somehow even more delusional, astroturfed, and utopian than the usual rightist libertarianism

The hippie-dippy version of "Fuck you, got mine"

No, because there isn't even really a coherent academic understanding of what "Post-Modernism" even is, let alone an coherent idea of a "Post-Left" analysis.

To be frank, the Marxist way of understanding it is that Modernism is defined by the reorientation of life around the factory, while Post-Modernism is defined by the reorientation of life around the spectacle.

However, the vast mass of humanity currently is defined by Modernism, while the West is firmly entrenched in Post-Modernism. Which leads to a kind of conundrum. Post-Modernism can only exist because someone else is experiencing Modernism. Where-as Modernism can exist outside and independent of Feudalism, Post-Modernism cannot exist outside of and independent of Modernism, which means that really, "Post-Modernism" is simply an extension and systemic maturation of "Modernism". A false and non-existent ideological transition.

Ignoring the side tangent, "Post-leftism" ignores the fact that leftist theory anticipates failure and regression.

And that is the serious theory, otherwise it is just libertarianism but somehow worse.

As I understand it, it's people so thoroughly disillusioned by the fall of the USSR that they basically agree with all the communist critiques of capitalism but no longer believe in any possibility of improving the world through collective action.

2 main categories:

  • grifters moving on to the new thing

  • people whose revolutionary movement turned to dick and desperately search for something new to hold on to.

The former: who cares, the latter: I sympathetic. Norman Finkelstein falls in the 2nd category. He's talked about how he was so shocked when the cultural revolution ended with the arrest of the gang of four that he was bedridden for days.

I have often remarked on the fact that an “anti-Marxist” argument is only the apparent rejuvenation of a pre-Marxist idea. A so-called “going beyond” Marxism will be at worst only a return to pre-Marxism; at best, only the rediscovery of a thought already contained in the philosophy which one believes he has gone beyond.
