CIA chief is unable to apply the "does this make sense" test that they train middle schoolers to do in Pre-Algebra.

If they are turning over their fighting force every 20-30 minutes and losing 1000 troops a day, they must only have about 20 troops along the frontline.

The phenomenon of Alternative Facts is alive and well.

brainworm levels off the charts, can you even call them bainworms when it's just a writhing mass of worms without a brain?

yeah the conservative establishment democrats love Russia, they totally weren't the ones pushing the so far right it may as well be john birch society bullshit Russiagate conspiracy theory to excuse Hillary's loss

anyone in the wold being this stupid makes me want to kill myself

[-] agentant@hexbear.net 8 points 10 hours ago

I'm honestly baffled by this. This is just so overtly Hitlerite. With the gal of this motherfucker to call others "conservative" too, by brother in christ you are the fascist. At least everyone else was clowning on him but like good god

[-] sleeplessone@lemmy.ml 15 points 11 hours ago

Annexing Russia is ridiculous even by Western chauvanist Hugh Crane fan club standards. Like, channeling my latent burger brainworms for a second, why would you want to annex a giant country of... idk, evil alcoholics from Mordor? Whatever the racist stereotype de jeur libs have about them is at the moment. A massive country full of [insert racist stereotype here] that's on another continent and full of people who hate your guts. Sounds like such an obviously bad idea even that even a writhing mass of brainworms should be able to figure out.

Is that stargate screen meant to represent Cato holding a fig? I'm not following.

He's afraid of citrus, and in that scene the guy is showing him a lemon to get him to do his bidding.

I think they are meaning to show that "this would be another Afghanistan", but the context of that scene makes it seem like Afghanistan is manipulating the USA into annexing Russia for their own ends? I dunno it's confusing.

Maybe Afghanistan is the lemon? And they're saying the USA is afraid of another Afghanistan and won't annex Russia?

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

What’s the average life expectancy for a US politician in a Ukrainian weapons factory?

Pretty funny comment from a dot worlder though

[-] into_highest_invite@lemmygrad.ml 43 points 18 hours ago

What is even “Russia” at this point.

They should just split the countries into smaller territories and call it a day.

lol they never met a nation they didn't try to balkanize

[-] agentant@hexbear.net 7 points 10 hours ago

What even is "The United States" at this point

They should just split it into individual states and call it a day

[-] SpookyBogMonster@lemmy.ml 26 points 15 hours ago

Libs want to do the Morganthau Plan to Russia, apparently

His “decolonized” Russia and China maps are hilarious. Neolib imperialism wants to Yugoslavia (Balkanize) or Libya (immiserate) the whole world so their precious capital can flow in. That being said, I have a proposed map for Germany:

[-] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 38 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

Warhammer 40000 lore stated that average imperial guardsman life expectancy on battlefield is 15 hours, and this is considered a meme based on books PoV being in really shit situations like being in the middle of tyranid invasion.

CIA propaganda is worse than grimdark meme.

[-] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 25 points 17 hours ago

Unfortunately they're probably doing that thing where they take one case (say for example maybe they had one month or several where many Russian troops had been killed) and then using math to extrapolate it to four and a half years.

Machines don't shoot out puffs of air like they used to doggirl-gloom

[-] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 31 points 17 hours ago

My body is a machine that converts food into puffs of air so there is still hope

[-] somename@hexbear.net 74 points 22 hours ago

This is mind numbingly dumb. For this to be true, there would need to be active drone swarms over the Russian positions at like all times. Not just in the contested zone, but the actual outposts that they deploy from.

So somehow these drone swarms are so effective that they die within 30 minutes, yet the bases still stand? Why would Ukraine simply not walk to Crimea if this was true? The war would be over!

Who was he saying this to? I wanna know what group he thinks is morons.

[-] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 61 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

As a German, this is great news! That means we don't have to increase military spending, right? anakin-padme-2 If the barbaric Russian hordes are getting decimated, we have nothing to worry about!

[-] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 48 points 21 hours ago

it's wild how they obviously have little regard for the critical thinking skills of their audience
but looking at the linked thread it seems they are correct to lol

[-] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 20 points 17 hours ago

Dogs have better critical thinking skills than most of the people in that thread. If you tease a dog, they'll catch on after a few times. These people put Goldfish to shame in their absolute inability to sniff out propaganda, even when the propaganda is literally labeled with a giant glowing "THIS IS PROPAGANDA" sign.

Its very funny to go to the home instances of the people accusing everyone of being secret Russian propagandists, and when you scroll their news it's just kyvipost, kyivpost, kyivpost...

[-] agentant@hexbear.net 56 points 22 hours ago

The lowest claimed lifespan I've seen for Stalingrad was 24 hours. Aside from it being a hard thing to calculate, they're meaning to tell me the entire warfront is that much more dangerous than the battle that leveled a city and had brutal room-to-room fighting throughout? This is as absurd at the claimed death-tolls of protesters in Iran.

[-] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 1 points 1 hour ago

I don't even think the casualties announced by this CIA clown were that high on the first day of the Somme in 1916. You had people running straight into machine gun fire and artillery across open ground trying to overwhelm the enemy into running out of munitions.

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 47 points 22 hours ago

That thread is infuriating. Some guy does basic napkin math and gets down voted because they dare discount the CIA.

[-] Kopfrkingl@hexbear.net 47 points 22 hours ago

Oh yeah. If they keep up with the current speed, they might make it by ~2150 or so. Assuming they don’t run out of fuel in the meantime…

Russia will run out of fuel but Ukraine has unlimited resources apparently

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 51 points 23 hours ago

If this utter nonsense were true then Ukraine would be taking massive amounts of territory.

[-] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 36 points 22 hours ago

or we should be able to see the pile of bodies from space

[-] BanMeFromPosting@hexbear.net 26 points 22 hours ago

Got any good write up of the current state of the war? According to that thread crimea is under siege and Russia is basically reduced to a single oblast.

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 38 points 21 hours ago

Zelensky just fired the defense minister, something that famously happens when things are going very well and you don't need to switch strategies.

On the ground it is the same as ever, Russia makes extremely slow territorial gains while grinding away. Losses on the Ukraine side are slightly higher than losses on the Russian side but they're pretty close to even and comparable in my opinion which explains the extremely slow progress. Ukraine has recently managed to hit some targets inside Russia that produced big spectacular visuals so pro-Ukrainian social media has recently been invigorated into believing Ukraine is winning again. But the situation on the ground is mainly the same, Russia grinding them down very slowly.

[-] huf@hexbear.net 13 points 17 hours ago

to be fair, that defense minister was actively preventing steiner from counterattacking. we should see some REAL action now!

[-] Awoo@hexbear.net 11 points 16 hours ago

I don't think that's true. I think Fedorov and Syrsky clashed because Fedorov wanted Syrsky to make another attempt at an offensive on Crimea (stupid idea, very doomed) and Syrsky was saying no.

Fedorov's deep strikes into Russia have produced some spectacular propaganda but has it actually improved their war position at all? No, I don't think it has. So he's been thrown out and someone with a more traditional approach is coming in.

What this probably means is that the deep drone strikes are going to stop and the resources going to them will start appearing on the frontlines again. That's not going to enable an offensive though.

Zelensky ranting from his fuhrer bunker.

Putin ranting from his furher bunker.

Cause if you think about that statement for a few seconds, it is unclear what it is even saying. 30 minutes in Ukraine? By what definition of Ukraine borders? The international ones? No matter how bad it is, that seems impossible. The Russian ones? Well, yes. Being behind the front lines is hella dangerous. Not sure how they would even get there. The de-facto controlled Ukraine territory? In that case, you are just saying soldiers that charge Ukraine defenses tend to die, which duh.

Hats off to Wittgenstein in that thread.

this is obvious nato copium but it reminds me of the stats we're told about the US invading viet nam and i never had the methodology behind that statistic explained to me.

[-] sleeplessone@lemmy.ml 57 points 1 day ago

Our enemy is extremely weak a doomed to fail, so no need to pull out of the war. This is trustworthy intel, not misinformation crafted as part of a psyop to maintain public support for imperialism.

-- John CIA, head of the Misinformation and Psyops to Maintain Imperialism Agency

[-] agentant@hexbear.net 38 points 22 hours ago

They're weak and doomed to fail and on the verge of collapse, but they also pose an existential threat. If we stop funding the war and pull out, they're gonna invade us and it's gonna be like 1987 and Animal Farm.
