I had a real close look this morning.

I think the strays are getting to be chunguses.

Maybe they grow extra fur in winter? I know some dog breeds do that.

They get dry food and 2 cans of wet food in the morning, and dry food at night.

Maybe that's too much.

What does the packaging say for serving sizes? You'd rather them a little chunky than skinny.

Agreed. Better extra fluffy than hungry.

To be honest because there's a fair few of them I've been eyeballing it. 2 large dry food bags last about 6 days and 2 cans of wet food seems to do the trick.

Sounds like its doing the job though.

Heading out for Mexican food and trivia tonight! Not sure I'll be able to do trivia while shovelling tacos into my mouth, but I guess we'll see!

If it's the same mob I do it through you just need to hit a button on a buzzer

[-] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 points 3 days ago

It was a different mob, involving writing. It moved so fast we were barely able to order food around doing the quiz. Fun, but not a fan of the format. I like the way your group does it with the quarters and the mini games.

I've been to a lot of museums in many places around the world and the exhibits at the Rome exhibition are as good as I've seen anywhere . Each item is a masterpiece or has a specific purpose in telling the story of life in Ancient Rome.

I have rarely seen such beautiful and interesting coins. My favourite was the Coliseum commemorative coin. The glass was exquisite. All art would be masterpieces in any age.

omg, the micromosaic, ๐Ÿคฉ

also, I understood a lot of the Latin. ( I've been studying Latin for a month now. โœ‹)

Itโ€™s interesting to be reminded how similar we are now to then. Objects like commemorative coins, hair combs, childrenโ€™s toys, house decorations, bowls for food etc, all exist today and used for the same reasons they were back then. People are people in all times and places. Our human needs connect us.

Everyone I've been working with wants to quit. May the job gods have jobs for all of us.

[-] mertn22@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago

When you all get alternative jobs may the company go staffless and bankrupt.

There was a pelican in the water reserve out the front of work today. It's always nice to see large animals like that out just chilling

That feeling when your cat scratches while you're playing and you think "lucky I had a tetnus shot recently"

Only to remember a moment later that it was because of the cat scratching you a previous time.

[-] StudChud@aussie.zone 2 points 3 days ago

Lol I've been bitten and scratched by the mickster so many times, I must be immune to tetanus or something. Never had an issue as far as I remember.

When Gibson got spayed, she was extra stabby afterwards so I had to get the shot lol

I was able to buy one of the new Steam Controllers and it arrived yesterday. Initial impressions are it's pretty good. It's not as bug or cumbersome as it looks, the part with the track pads isn't as wide as the grips so your hands go underneath them.

It has two buttons underneath you can program for games and the trackpads offer a bit more versatility as well. They default to mimicking the sticks so you can use either or reprogram them completely, which I'll have to look into.

I have the original and I like that one, but without a second stick I felt like I had to adjust the settings for each game. I wanted it to act like a mouse in the middle and a joystick around the edges, so I never used it as much as I should have. The triggers on the original have more travel and a noticeable click when pulled in all the way, so you could get really deep with programming just that.

It's a good bit of hardware, but expensive. For half the price you can get an 8bitdo Pro 3 off Aliexpress which has a similar amount of macro buttons and is a little bit more flexible with what it works with. The new Steam Controller can just be further justification for me to build by own Steam Machine further down the line

[-] Taleya@aussie.zone 2 points 3 days ago

'tis the season, I have an 8bitdo ultimate coming for a mate (he went ham on Retroarch last friday meetup) and have found m30 (sega) controllers in SNES colours. I want to get one just for insanity. Also my 2015 models don't play nice with retroarch on linux so I'm gonna keep them for the consoles and use it as an excuse to buy new shinies.

[-] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 3 days ago

Any excuse to upgrade, there have been so many developments in the controller space recently, and off Aliexpress they're so cheap too

[-] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago

Everyone else get that 5 minutes of intense rain?

[-] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago

Just finished watching Widows Bay. Great show if you like comedy/mystery genre. A few build ups to jump scares but they mostly turn out to be comedic.
