You probably know I live with my landlady, she's living on an old age pension and I've just got my disability benefits reinstated, but still waiting for my full backpay - I've had part of it so far but still waiting for another instalment, and what I've received already has gone on debt repayment. Still in massive debt. (because I had to live on credit during my appeal until there were no more lines of credit open to me then I had to start living off mutual aid).

Basically we have no money. Today the washing machine stopped working, hardly surprising since it's about 20 years old and has had a lot of problems before. My landlady is still away visiting her sick daughter and isn't due home for about another week, but I emailed her about this, she had a local repairman she knows come to look at it, and it is knackered. Not repairable any more.

She managed to find the cheapest deal possible on a new one, just £450 for the machine, delivery, installation and removal of the old one. But without mutual aid I can't raise £450. I contacted the local council and we can get a £100 crisis fund. But that won't cover the whole cost and will take 10 working days. Another option is a loan from the council but that will take time to come through and we can't afford it, we both already have debts to pay off, I've already had all my partial backpay taken for loan repayments, and my landlady has already maxxed out her credit card because her pension doesn't cover everything, we can't afford another debt.

My landlady and I are both disabled, I've had a stroke and get severe injuries from daily activities, because my left side is so weak. Right now I have a torn rotator cuff just from lifting a light item and I have trouble walking. My left arm is barely usable and several years of physiotherapy haven't helped. I can't lug bags of washing to the laundrette, the laudrette costs money anyway, whenever my landlady's away I'd have to pay for taxis, and when she's here we still can't carry such heavy things from a car park to the laundrette. My landlady is almost 80 and disabled too.

I honestly don't know how to manage without getting the new washing machine, and it's time sensitive too as I have hardly any clothes anyway, I've got only a few days worth of clean ones. I'm immunocompromised (cancer patient) and have chronic skin and foot infections, I can't wear the same dirty clothes for days on end.

If anyone can contribute via paypal please PM me.

Thanks, unfortunately I'll still be in a tonne of debt. I had to live on credit for so long during the appeal, that even when I get the full backpay (and no idea how long the rest will take) it won't be enough to pay the debt off because of the interest. I had to pay a fortune in interest, but the DWP don't have to pay me interest on the backpay. Because I'm still in debt, I'm even still racking up interest charges. So i still can hardly pay for anything. My entire monthly payment now is going on rent and debt repayment and interest charges. I still have barely anything for food, transport, toiletries, or anything else.
