I hope the more global-south-oriented sports events that China and Russia and a whole bunch of other countries participate in , grow more.

I laugh at the Winter Olympics and the number of goofy sports involved

Admittedly, I don't know the history but you can't tell me they weren't thought up to keep global South athletes from dominating them in events involving snow and massive investments in ski infrastructure and equipment.

Snowflake European countries literally wanted their own gold medal participation trophies given to them. Got tired of getting their butt whooped at the Summer Olympics

hey leave ESPN 8: The Ocholympics alone. the goofier the sports are the better because nobody knows enough about them for toxic sports fandom to take hold.
