HUGE nothing-burger.
So .. back to potatoes?
Irish GDP is largely driven by their status as a tax haven. American companies set up a company in Ireland in order to evade taxes through a loophole that exists between the two countries' tax codes.
I wouldn't be surprised if the 12% reduction in GDP is largely in that sector (Though admittedly I have not watched the video)
That wouldn't be a huge issue for Ireland. The inflated GDP figures "deflating" doesn't necessarily affect the real economy. GDP is just a metric and in the case of Ireland it is highly skewed.
That's exactly it. Frontloading pharma to avoid tarriffs now bites back.
Sorry, what?
It's a joke .. laugh.
Edit: Since there appears to be a language gap.
The Irish were exploited by the English to the point where they exported large quantities of food to the British land owners and a million people died as a result of the famine which among other things is known as the Irish Potato Famine.
Now they're exporting large quantities of cash to United States Billionaires .. the modern equivalent of an absentee landlord.
I'm not Irish, I don't speak for the Irish, but I daresay that they'd see the humour in this absurd situation, since otherwise their only remedy would be to give up and frankly I don't see that happening any time soon.
So .. yes .. it's a joke. Laugh.
