Hurling ordure at the TREACLES, especially those closely related to LessWrong.

AI-Industrial-Complex grift is fine as long as it sufficiently relates to the AI doom from the TREACLES. (Though TechTakes may be more suitable.)

This is sneer club, not debate club. Unless it's amusing debate.

[Especially don't debate the race scientists, if any sneak in - we ban and delete them as unsuitable for the server.]

The first comment and Yud's response.

I just can't respect a man who is posturing and arrogant yet still fails to go for the phrasing "to whom you are speaking".

Theres a constant stream of groupies I’m afraid.

Sadly they don't do anything for Yud as they are bad at math.

'It performs the Fourier transform or it gets the hose again!'

my only hope is that it's not, like, undergrads...

Ask a search engine about "math pet", perhaps including "miri" or "lesswrong". Unlucky 10000, I'm afraid.

oh yes, and, much like a powerglove, it was so bad

It is always somehow worse than one remembers.

truly a well-rounded awful fuckhead, terrible in many dimensions

Thank you very much for this. It left me wondering how closely correlated polyamory is with the EA / TESCREAL scene. Or perhaps Harry Potter fan fiction.

I'm old and should not give dating advice but I wouldn't think that words like 501 (c) (3) or Technorati would be in a dating profile.

The Harry Potter fanfiction bit is eye-watering. Tho' not as bad as saying he has a "strong sexually sadistic streak", then still encouraging "shy and underconfident" women to date him. Sorry, I just have to go puke....

Actually the whole thing is sickening. Bad cringe. Evil nerd stuff.

Glimmer of self awareness? Someone should write a paper...

I went in expecting yud to double down on the bullshit number he pulled from his ass, but I’m kinda marveling at the false confidence required to give 2 pages of conditions under which he’d be willing to revise that made-up number upwards

8.53% to be exact

someone should ask him to show his math

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

from now on, my new bit is: I’m gonna prove how current yud tweet is a joke. Not that anyone needed more reasons to not take him seriously, of course. Just clowning on him and his inability to consciously produce humor for a lil’ fun.

In this case: Quoting an exact percentage for a made up quantity is clearly a reference to the “32.33, repeating of course” line from the leeroy jenkins video which was later revealed as a hoax, so by the transitive property, this twitter thread is also a hoax. Quite a clever, humorous, and timely meme reference. Bravo Dr. Yud

Men will literally devote their lives to becoming scifi Cassandra instead of going to therapy.

Ow god that list of signs, and then starting with 'openness is bad' That is your strongest point? That is what you choose to lead with? (I know, he never finished enough education to learn you should start with what you think are your strongest arguments). (Doesn't help that his openness vs closed arguments are just plain wrong, but well he also never went into academia. There is a case for closedness of course, but that is the paperclips argument).

Also lol at the physical security remark, like China would sneak in Shadowrunners to steal the harddrives of OpenAi's desktops. (Vs just using hackers, insiders or if you believe the conspiracies around Chinas capabilities with that, send OpenAi backdoored hardware). Gear up chummers, we are breaking into the OpenAI arcology. (And say, if Yud knows more than I do and they security of OpenAI offices and datacenters is really bad and is an actual risk, admitting that this is an area of improvement on twitter is not a smart move).
