The secret is to take in enough mild stimulant (coffee, pre-workout or whatever) that it becomes so unpleasant to do nothing that you’ll do whatever to make it stop.

This morning I woke up at 5 am (consequences of summertime) watched the finale of daredevil, used my computer for the remaining hours then went back to sleep and eventually back to bed - woke up with so much mental clarity it felt like I'd died.
The last two hours of sleep are clearly the most important and I wouldn't shame anyone for taking a nap right after waking.
Funny thing is exercise helps with that (barring disability in which case talk to a doctor), but in general the less you move the worse you feel and it takes a bit to kick in
