14 years...that's how long it took for him to see the consequences of his actions. Unacceptable.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago

he had a boost during covid, when MTG was harrasing the survivors too for a short time.

fucking wizards of the coast man \s

[-] Blibly@lemmy.world 90 points 3 days ago

And we all know unless he goes to jail for his debts he won't pay anything to anyone.

[-] frongt@lemmy.zip 76 points 3 days ago

Jailing people for debt is a terrible idea. Just garnish his pay and seize his assets.

[-] DiarrheaSommelier@lemmy.ca 61 points 3 days ago

He's hiding his assets in plain sight and the courts are letting him get away with it.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 days ago

Then he should be jailed for the act of hiding them, not for the debt itself

Yeah, that is not the end of him nor his money.

They just let him put everything into his new business and I would not be shocked if he will see some of the money the onion has to pay for infowars now.

The rich have class consciousness, the poor don't.

I think this already been done.. hence The Onion taking over infowars.com.. or.. is that on hold?

Not sure..

[-] silence7@slrpnk.net 32 points 3 days ago

The problem is that he hid most of his assets and is trying to pretend to the court that he is broke

[-] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Ah, but that's jail time if they prove it.

[-] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 11 points 2 days ago

He hasn’t seen consequences. A ruling against you means nothing if it’s not enforced. And there have been no legal consequences either for the blatantly highly illegal stuff that was found when he accidentally cloned his phone and handed it over to the prosecution

It's been 14 years since sandy hook happened?!

[-] yenahmik@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago

I had to Google it, and if you want to be pedantic, it was technically 13 years and 5 months ago. Definitely horrific it's been so long either way.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

enough time for david hogg one of the survivors to get into the DNC temporarily.

[-] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 17 points 3 days ago

And he's still sticking to his shit conspiracy about it.

[-] Kirk@startrek.website 41 points 2 days ago

It's absolutely crazy the gymnastics the judicial system is making to keep Jones on the air and prevent the families of the Sandy Hook victims from seeing restitution.

This shutdown was Jones's decision not the courts or The Onion:

A judge granted Jones’ request to block the sale, arguing that another offer by a company that happened to operate Jones’ online supplements store had been higher. But in April, there seemed to be a workaround — Jones’ estate had run out of money and instead of buying it in an auction, The Onion could just pay rent in a licensing deal. On Wednesday, a Texas appeals court stopped the transfer again, temporarily blocking the asset handover.

And so it seems Jones, unable to pay the rent, left on his own accord.

The Onion should use Infowars to teach the Constitution.

[-] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 94 points 3 days ago

All hail the Onion!

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 28 points 2 days ago

What bridge does he live under? Because he doesn't live in a house, right? Because if he lives in a house, then confiscate it, sell it, and give the money to his victims. Then he can go live under a bridge.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 16 points 2 days ago

remember he had wagner recruitment advertisements on his show.

[-] Cellari@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

I can't even remember all the things he's done anymore. It's been too long.

[-] BeanGoblin@lemmy.blahaj.zone 49 points 3 days ago

He's not going anywhere. He stalled the process for so long he already moved a lot of his money and audience to a different platform he doesn't own.

[-] yesman@lemmy.world 30 points 3 days ago

Loosing the brand is a big deal. But not as big of a deal as being de-platformed. Alex's troupe is a ghost compared to what Info Wars was in 2015.

What Alex has accomplished is dragging this out until a time when right-wing media is in decline nationally. Yea, Alex is still around, the same way Blockbuster has a store or two.

[-] Bahnd@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

One store, the one in Anchorage closed a while ago. The shop in Bend, OR is the last blockbuster.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago

he gave it to friends and families and llc, dont know if he hid them international banks, but the family will take forever to get any significant money back.

Monday -
Alex Jones: It's a lie! I'm still in control of the studio!

Friday -
Studio locked. Lights out. Alex isn't in control anymore.

Dude looks like he's trying to pass a kidney stone.

[-] captain_oni@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 3 days ago

With all the shit he puts in his body, they're probably more stone than kidneys at this point

[-] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 days ago

Suck it Jones

[-] sommerset 10 points 3 days ago

So what's his next site?
Is prison planet still his?

[-] loweffortname@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 2 days ago

Another comment also answered, but he has moved to "The Alex Jones Network" owned by Bigly. It's a bullshit move that pulled a lot of assets out of the bankruptcy.
