the cishet dude version of this from 20 years ago is when the girl in your class asks if you play video games and you say yes and she tells you about her "sims" and asks if you want to play and you can make two sims to be roommates together and you are like "naw i dont play that game" and she looks sad

cishet dude version

oh i interpreted the person on the right as a guy (cishet brainworms) and thought this was a comic about autism when really it was a comic about awkward lesbian romance the entire time (or both)

i think its both. but my comment is about how neurodivergent experiences of this kind is shared across the spectrum of gender and sexuality

That, which still holds today, is my lament. I was like "dating? So I'd have to interrupt being online and doing what I want to do to go be romantic or whatever??". It makes me think that I might actually be some kind of ace despite yearning for, seeking out, and luxuriating in companionship.

The reason why the girl took off her sweater was because she felt safe enough to do so. If it had been an average "alpha male" sitting on the bed, she probably wouldn't have come over in the first place.

haha, the lean in on the third panel too. Yes, yes she was. Really appreciate how well the artist has captured the body language in this.

Oh heck. I would not have noticed any of that. Also I have aro/ace friends who act like that sometimes with various people, (maybe not taking their shirts off...) but yeah.

I probably wouldn't either irl and in a vacuum just leaning in is nothing... But coming into the other character's bedroom, taking off her shirt, and leaning in and pushing her chest out, all put together, isn't super subtle.

Way I figure it, Just Cooling Down couldn't have been that interested if she gives one signal too ambiguous to even yield a clear rejection, then just gives up after that.

Unless Gray Hoodie has a one month time delay on registering all attraction signals and is about to have a series of realizations about Just Cooling Down's subsequent attempts over the coming days.
