I was clearly not bigoted in any manner, and I believe more civil than the way I was treated, was it the Code of Conduct? Excerpts:

Respect that people have differences of opinion and that every design or implementation choice carries a trade-off and numerous costs. There is seldom a right answer.

I think I was kind with the people I disagreed with, even if they could not be in return, yet those comments (some including ableist slurs) remain. I think this is enough to demonstrate it is merely a difference in ideology which motivated the ban. Well, bans, because it seems they copied and pasted the same ban in all the communities they have access to:

It's not a general lemmy.ml ban, just those in particular.

I understand this kind of behavior in safe space communities that don't want outsiders bellyaching about the pragmatism of electoral politics, but that's not the case in any of the communities I've been banned from, nor is it a part of the instance rules or CoC.

PTB or triggered shitlib? Not an exclusive or, of course.

The fundamental problem with saying X is better than Y is that doing so while not suggesting Z makes it clear you're advocating for it instead of advocating for something better. It's probably true that drinking piss is better than eating shit, but why do either instead of drinking water?

That's not even getting into the fact that the advocacy here is between childremoved genociders and childremoved genociders. Ultimately the liberal is getting upset that they're being called out for not giving a fuck about what happens to people who are slightly different to them or outside their economic class, all they care about is their own comfort and their own personal identity issues and they're willing to toss literally everyone else under the bus for those things.

I just love that everything my mom taught me is being proven right all the time. In 2008 in regards to voting for Obama she said "I don't vote, even if they're a good candidate they'll just do whatever the rich want them to do anyway." Just by experiencing poverty and illness in the US and having critical thought she came to viewpoints that would be celebrated here. I think it probably helped that me and my siblings played a lot of hardcore conscious rap in the house too.

Yeah I remember that was one argument made, and then the other was the radically supportive "we don't give a shit about if your reason is horrible, we will use any pronouns you request and then use those pronouns in polemics against you" or something. Idk I didn't care too much though supported the radically supportive side, but I guess I should've paid more attention because its a broader phenomenon now.

Being a massive asshole and punching left. Before grail did their own instance they helped do a blahaj campaign to chase away comm mods that were leftists. Because they weren't pro Biden (I hate that I remember stuff like this)

Lemmy 1.0 will come out the same day China achieves communism. That’s nearly as far away as the day the Democrats listen to non voters

The Liberals have always believed this. From their perspective, progress manifests only through reform of the institutions. As far as they're concerned, anyone who takes action on the belief that the existing institutions are irredeemable and beyond reform is an enemy of progress.

The Sisyphean nature of reform in financialized liberal democracies makes them incredibly defensive and bitter. Their plans for reform have been so thoroughly sidelined by the domination of capital that they are operating on time scales of the Bene Gesserit. In 100 years - as long as they don't lose a single election along the way - they will have placed the right number of people in the right places to begin reforming the Supreme Court and to initiate some hearings about the possibility of funding research for policy incentivizing private development of clean energy.

Their lives are dedicated to pushing the bolder one inch further up the hill, and when it inevitably starts tumbling downward they will blame everyone who told them it was going to happen.
