Now the question is did the fire actually damage the beds/sleeping quarters or so much smoke got in they're uninhabitable until able to clean?
I did a thing
Edit: sorry here it is

When I was a submariner, the biggest wtf was why they made the temperature adjustment on the dryers just a giant knob that cranked things up to 11, with a piece of tape on it saying DO NOT TOUCH. In the few years I was there I saw three laundry fires, all due to people cranking that thing up and walking away instead of watching their clothes as they're supposed to be doing for just this reason.
The Navy is dumb and full of dumb people doing dummy stuff.
Man is this really the case or is this fire a cover-up?
Imagine the dumbest person you've ever met. Now imagine they couldn't find a job, or have a court ordered decision between jail or military service. That's easily 10-15% of enlisted personnel.
Over time, people with options who want to focus on family life or are sick of the bullshit will leave for greener pastures. This leaves a vacuum where the qualified folks leaving get filled by time in rate lifers. A significant number of folks in leadership positions are there because they've been around longer then anyone else available at the time.
So yeah, it can be pretty bad.
To the disgruntled mid-level officers serving on the USS Ford: there is a way forward.

I’ve seen goy being used ironically by people outside of the Nazi sphere in recent years; it’s a little unsettling because traditionally it was the most obvious online nazi dog whistle, which is why I would never feel comfortable using it.
Is it sort of like the reverse of the triple parentheses? In a vacuum, I have a hard time getting worked up about the term "goy". It seems like it belongs in the pantheon of words like "cracker" or "gringo"
I mean technically there’s nothing wrong with using it. In modern Hebrew and Yiddish it simply means “non Jew.” The thing is, for a while, the overwhelming majority of people using it online outside of Jewish communities were 4chan pol types, so it was kind of suspect to see it.
The stormfront/pol crowd sees the word in the same way transphobes see the word “cis” in that it was some kind of slur Jews were referring to gentiles as, when in fact the word is simply neutral and is only a pejorative in context
I dunno, I did a quick look-over of the account and didn't find anything objectionable, there's actually some good takes here, they seem to be an indigenous American with an evangelical upbringing, which is, uh... an interesting demographic

Yeah the word itself is not necessarily a slur or anything but it is seized on by a lot of crypto fascists. This poster seems to just be using it for the sake of the pun which I can get behind.
it sounds like its turning into one of those prison dreadnoughts.
I was just listening to the Lions Led By Donkeys episode on the USS Massachusetts which was America's first battleship and NOTHING has changed lol.
