And yes, if you live at the north end of vista hills drive, to get to your house you must drive all the way south on legends view drive, turn left twice and drive all the way north on vista hills to your house, there is no other option. Each street in this photo is about a full mile long

And access to the rails is almost entirely flanked by housing, so cutting over the tracks isn't going to help much for most locations

For these two specifically though, I'm absolutely using wire cutters if there's a fence on that rail

treatler Hmm, yes, I would love a forest next to my property, but only in a way that means I have no access to it.

Just eyeballing it maybe 300 dwelling units? So you could alternatively have a couple apartments buildings in a small urban center and preserve most of the forest for nature/public use, while housing the same number of people. No cars necessary, basic necessities within walking distance.

anyone designing a layout like this without connecting the two roads at the bottom should be put in some sort of facility to protect society from their influence

I actually grew up in Eureka and this was the bougiest subdivision in town at the time (can't say for certain now because every available square inch has a hellish housing development in it). One time a house there burned down because it had a meth lab in the basement.
