I think you just got wooshed.
I think I just got it (14 better than 15?) but I honestly thought they just oopsied their Roman numerals.
They meant FF4. XIV would be 14, IV is 4.

Not OP but overexplaining jokes is my PaSsIoN.
If you do a raw substitution of Roman numerals for Arabic numerals when writing FF15, you wind up with FFIV. Of course, because of the way Roman numerals work, FFIV ≠ FF15 (as that is properly written as FFXV). Instead, FFIV refers to Final Fantasy 4.
The joke is that the only way you can make FF15 (or FFXV, if you prefer) good is to misunderstand the numbering and play a different game instead.

Roman numerals do not include the letters F, T, or Y
It uh... It actually gets considerably worse? But sure, faster, around halfway.
8 chapters of open world, remaining is more like FFXIII linear gameplay with a story that obviously was written by someone else. The pacing changes dramatically, too. You'll know the halfway mark because you will be warned you can't go back to the open world.
The DLC has it's moments, I guess. You kind of need it to fully get the story.
most modern ff games are soulless slogs since ff13.
FF12 was the last one that had any decent pacing.
I enjoyed it, but I can't say it get much "faster." It's very much a "road trip" as a game, you're meant to enjoy the journey and the time spent with friends. The end section picks up quite a bit though, it serves as a contrast to the slower, "peaceful" time spent with your friends.
In my personal opinion: It doesn't
When did FF7 get good? A lot of people love it but the first hour made me put it down and never look back.
