The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Friday it has received reports of seven illnesses in at least five states possibly linked to contaminated puree.

Two new companies, Schnucks Markets of St. Louis and Weis Markets of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, announced recalls of certain cinnamon applesauce products because they may contain high levels of lead. WanaBana of Coral Gables, Florida, previously recalled of all lots and expiration dates of its apple cinnamon fruit puree.

There sure is a lot of shit out there that seems to expose kids to lead. If there were ever a conspiracy that I could believe almost immediately, it would be that hostile governments (or some other entity that benefits from poisoning our youth, I don’t know, I’m not a conspiracy scientist) are finding ways to put lead in all our products as a way to dumb us all down.

Could absolutely be true. The US political system has been taken over so it's not impossible.

The conspiracy is that the producers of the fruit puree and other things that are poisoning kids are cheap bastards that use equipment made with lead because it would cost money to replace them with safer equipment and they also don't give two shits about who it harms.

Greed + lack of empathy = Fucked up shit.

Or they import the puree from the cheapest possible place which might not have the best food safety regulations in the world and package it in the US. Like some of that Apple juice that comes from China.

I honestly was thinking something similar, and it stresses me out.

Is it really that fucking hard to not have lead in the food you produce?

Actually, yeah, it’s actually pretty hard when people in your country listen to mega corp propaganda to defund and dismantle regulatory agencies - because they are bad and liberal or some other stupid bullshit.
