I always get a kick out of "what are the dems doing to fight this?" type queries. They need to wait for the elections. It is still a democracy (so far) and they cannot legally do anything because in democracy sometimes you don't get the best candidate, so you abide. Any other action is revolution (which is a proud american tradition).
