The Okanogan valley in B.C. Canada is a desert that has been irrigated and turned into orchards and vineyards. If you can get water into the desert it is really good for growing fruit. The -30 degree winters might be a bit much for some plants though.

This is so cool. I'm grateful to the hard working Chinese people for their exemplary accomplishments and I hope to use their beautiful lessons to inspire others across the world. And of course to apply those lessons myself.
