U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani issued the ruling Thursday, blocking the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration from sharing taxpayer data with the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Judge Talwani said the DHS’ claim that noncitizens lack Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures is ripe for abuse.

Did any judge successfully block ICE from doing whatever they want?

Judges say whatever and then do nothing cause the entire executive branch is diseased and won't uphold anything. Judges aren't much different from a homeless person wearing a black garbage bag and shouting at traffic these days.

Might as well just tell that to the judge overseeing my divorce and just take the kids no matter what she says - just taking precedent from the trump administration 😂

Jokes on them, DOGE already got all the data and funneled it to Palantir. They don’t need access anymore, All the data already gone.

I guess tax really is one of those unmovable entities. Even if your country randomly and clearly hates you and wants to deport you, you need to pay tax.

Under a sane administration, paying taxes is a way to help you stay in the country.

Back when INS was in charge, you could submit tax records as a way to help convert to legal status.

INS could not access those records without you first submitting them.

Drug dealers could also pay taxes, and have their money be somewhat "clean". I mean, you'd still go to prison for the drugs themselves, but not for any tax crimes like Capone.

Not just could pay taxes, you're required to have a tax stamp for your drugs. I always thought it was funny.

As an aside, Scripps is barely better than Sinclair.
