Epstein had a personal sub that doesn't kill its occupants? That's a much bigger flex than any yacht.

I think lots of people have lots of personal submarines but the one that did the really cool thing that we all wish would happen again was supposed to go super deep

edit: which I guess it ended up doing technically!

The main Issue with OceanGate sub was its experimental carbon fibre hull, that is thought to have developed microfractures on previous trips before the final

Not the depth alone, but it was going deeper than these traditional metal-hulled private/recreational subs do

More importantly the CEO was doing all this in an attempt to PROFIT from his lower-cost design

When you challenge the ocean itself and cheap out, you're gonna fuckin die. We've known this since prehistory but somehow billionaires are dumb enough they gotta learn the hard way.

The Odyssey proves the Ocean shows mercy to liars if theyre good at it.

You also have to be funny and to get protection from gods.

He bought an xbox series one controller instead of steering-device saving countless lives.

[-] segfault11@hexbear.net 18 points 2 weeks ago

arguably buying the real xbox controller ruined many lives instead

It was an OG Xbox controller, and they had to build the entire steering console around it

The jury is still out on whether the submarine had Uno or not

Date for the picture?

It matters to me whether they're pre or post 2008 conviction.

On further research looks like this pic is from a 2006 visit and as been around online since 2024

My bad, saw it on Reddit so assumed it was part of the latest tranche.

The emails linked are newly released, and there is also a 2015 email from Epstein denying Hawkings took part in an 'underage orgy', from a previous tranche

Interesting! I don't think you need to "my bad" it. It does change context slightly though, anyone after 2008 is considerably more guilty.

The emails the quote from my other comment are from are dated 2017 so I assume around then (so post first conviction)
