The letter in full reads:

“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America.

“Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.

“I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.

Thank you!
President DJT”

I know he's a buffoon, and yet I'm still amazed that this is the President of the United States of America. This is the writing style of an 8 year old!

That is the writing style of someone that doesn't know how anything works. Let alone understands any of it.

He knows enough that he is in power and he can do and say what he wants. His entire lifespan has taught him that reality will change to accomodate his wishes. and he is not wrong. So he doesn't have to know how anything works, it will work in his favour if he says so.

Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize

Seems like he missed the basics principles (again). Even if the Norwegian government would, they could not do it. It's not up to them ...... "Nobel Prizes are assigned by various committees depending on the category"

The Nobel committee does have politicians on the peace part. Which is a big mistake, as they've made a string of awful decisions. The entire committee has no credibility in the reality based community, thinking Obama, an institutionalist, would deserve it. Then aiby ahmed, su kyi, now a zionist at the tail end of a two year long final solution for their ghetto, lashing out at all of their neighbors under false pretexts with their overwhelming military advantage. That also advocated for a us backed coup of her own country.

A coup that happened already, the military made a deal clearly, they let the helicopters through, the US wouldn't have tried that mission if they had not gave up intel and agreed to stand down. The army is the de facto ruler, will oversee the now puppet civilian government signing over assets and concessions and after resistance forms to wholesale oil drilling for foreign interests sees attacks on oil infrastructure and what have you, the army will get into atrocities, and if history is any guide establish paramilitaries to do the dirty work they don't want to do directly, like run death squads through villages to collectively punish them, paid for by black market drug and weapon sales.

I mention this, because that is the legacy of this nobel prize, that is what will result from the coup she advocated. The nobel committee is beyond a joke, might as well have given it to the president at this point.

At least one media outlet that calls this out as bizarre. Meanwhile others are just paraphrasing the Annoying Orange's deranged ramblings as if they were something a normal person would say.

The nytimes basically surrendered this term. Their reporting is quite subservient, they had problems before in his first term, but they now have no courage to break any big stories, sanewash his comments on stuff like this, and otherwise do not call the administration out honestly. Less so than before.

Israel's reprisals against their ghettos and wars with neighbors broke their brains, and I'm not certain the editors and owners themselves aren't on the epstein tapes fucking children, that might be held by the president's own fixers as well as israeli intelligence.

The fact that this isn’t the Onion is insane.

What concerns me is that with all these letters, statements and actions (and with America 250 coming up), it is becoming very difficult to imagine that he would back down. The situation is dire.

How many wars are "8 wars PLUS"? Can he count beyond 8?

And seriously, is this all aboul that Nobel Prize? Is he throwing a hissy fit just because he couldn't win it?

America, you better do something with your senile president, because your reputation was already low before him but right now you are just drilling into the ground to find if rock-bottom is truly the bottom.

is this all aboul that Nobel Prize?

He's pissed he didn't get it. But if he had gotten it, he would have found another "reason" to throw a tantrum. And it wouldn't help Greenland, as long as some of the filthy rich people have an interest in it - "freedom cities" where they can live their liberitarian dreams.

It's a beautiful letter, literally every sentence is factually incorrect, and once he runs out of wrong things to say, he ends it. *Chefs kiss*

It's the lack of respect. "Dear Jonas..." Not, "Dear Prime Minister", or "Dear Sir..." He'd lose his s**t if he was just referred to as "Dear Donald"

This is the kind of petty logic you'd expect from a schoolchild.

It also reveals something chilling about his power-oriented world view: In Trump's mind, there is no such thing as an 'independent committee' that the Norwegian government might defer to regarding who gets the nobel peace price. He presumes that of course any government could seize the authority to influence who gets the price, so the Norwegian government's obvious decision not to intervene in Trump's favour is implicitly seen as a decision against Trump. In Trump's mind, there are no rules and there is no such thing as a pluralistic society that practices self-restraint and shares power.

Compare with Jefferson's letter to Adams on the matter of the Barbary states ...

    https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/01-10-02-0058

Our instructions relative to the Barbary states having required us to proceed by way of negotiation to obtain their peace, it became our duty to do this to the best of our power. Whatever might be our private opinions, they were to be suppressed, and the line marked out to us, was to be followed. It has been so honestly, and zealously.

    ...

These are the reasons which have influenced my judgment on this question. I give them to you to shew you that I am imposed on by a semblance of reason at least, and not with an expectation of their changing your opinion. You have viewed the subject, I am sure in all it’s bearings. You have weighed both questions with all their circumstances. You make the result different from what I do. The same facts impress us differently. This is enough to make me suspect an error in my process of reasoning tho’ I am not able to detect it.

Trump writes - and thinks! - like a young and petulant schoolchild in comparison with Jefferson.

Trump is an abusive narcissistic psychopath. When he says he didn't prop up the Venezuelan opposition leader because she didn't give him the Nobel peace price (until recently), when he says he no longer thinks of peace because he wasn't awarded it, he's basically saying "look at what you made me do". Stop pampering the American psychopath.
