The CES 2026 flu (hexbear.net)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by coolusername@hexbear.net to c/covid@hexbear.net

This is from the tech reviewer at dongknows.com. On a personal note I want to do Hyrox but I'm afraid of catching covid or anything else from other participants. These places & events where people will show up regardless if they're sick or not (think vacations) are very dangerous.

Is it the Flu, is it Covid, is it one of the many other pathogens increasing in spread across the globe? Who knows!

Covid, RSV, and Flu levels have been pretty high in the US for the past few weeks. We also have a some Measles outbreaks as a treat.

And the Flu variant currently spreading wasn't included in this years vaccine, so that will have limited effectiveness, and the flu is reportedly hitting people pretty hard. Masks are very effective against the flu, but thankfully the tyranny of big-mask is over so we all can enjoy freedom fevers and liberty mucus again.

It's interesting because i've seen news reports that life expectancy levels have returned to pre-pandemic norms. Probably from killing off a bunch of people early for the past few years. I wonder how long that will last?

Don't forget tuberculosis! I'm seeing social media posts of kids dancing around high schools in surgical masks because they kept the kids in school despite an outbreak.

Not to sound like a crackpot, but I strongly suspect that's bullshit. Like almost assuredly there's a socioeconomic thumb on the scale where once you dive down into the particulars it'll all fall apart.

According to this US death rates are still pretty high compared to 2019.

It's bad enough when workers are coerced into coming to work when sick. It's even more infuriating when folks who are on death's door are hacking up on groceries.

People make jokes about it, it's so bizarre. Why are we so flippant about disease?

Don't worry OP. The flu is just like Covid which is just like the flu.
