I wonder how they'd spin it in Europe to justify remaining "allies" with the US if they annex Greenland.

I'm thinking they'll blame all on Trump and hoping that as soon as he's out the yanks will go back to being polite about plundering Europe.

They'll probably blame Putin for it somehow. I don't think the average Eurolib will buy it though. They're deranged, but even they can see that the US empire has its own ambitions.

the average Eurolib

You mean the people ranting and raving that Putin wants to annex as far as Northern Ireland?

Yeah, those nerds. I know a bunch of really insufferable ones who seem to hate the EU's response of "monitoring the situation" because they know what's going to happen next lol.

Same thing as with the tariffs, there will be immaterial narratives about Europe turning away from the US, how they're making super somber, long term plans to become more independent and causing massive frustration to Americans, and at the end of the day, it's just some people are boycotting American spirits, and next year's defense budget is up a little to do an extra FON patrol in the Taiwan Strait.

Ukraine. That's the European password unlocking all doors.

That one Family Guy joke but instead of Lois saying "9/11" it's "Ukraine".

Well, she did kill a lot of minks so there must be some New York state law against animal cruelty she can be charged with.

It was during COVID. Denmark had a huge mink industry and there were credible fears that mink farms were incubators for mutations and spreading the disease.

Mette Frederiksen decided to cull all minks in Denmark. From a public health perspective it was a sound decision but she didn't have the legal authority to give such an order. She could have gotten it quickly and easily by rushing legislation through parliament but she didn't. She was warned about the lacking legality by officials but ignored the warnings and because she surrounds herself with weak yes-men and doesn't tolerate opposition, nobody in the cabinet opposed the decision.

Later on she tampered with evidence by having text messages deleted.

The culling itself was a rushed and gory operation. It turned out that disposing of millions of dead minks is a challenging task. Initially they were all buried in a ditch on a military training ground but it soon turned out that the decaying monks were threatening to pollute a nearby lake so that had to be dug up again and incinerated.

The right and the far right seized on the opportunity and demanded that she should be put on trial. To appease them, the mink farmers, many of whom were struggling to turn a profit before, received extremely generous compensations. This didn't stop the right from attacking her.

During the 2022 election campaign the right and far right, including the Liberal and Moderate parties, were demanding that she should be impeached and put on trial. They ruled out any future collaboration with her. After the election Frederiksen invited the liberals and moderates to form a right-wing cabinet. Seeing the opportunity to ram through unpopular policies, destroying the credibility of the social democrats and leave Frederiksen with most of the blame they accepted. Since then they have not uttered a single word about minks or the grave violation of the constitution Frederiksen commited.

No she shut down the fur coat industry and theyre still mad about it. (Even though they scored lucrative restitutive payments much greater than what the minks were worth)

The fur coat industry which was never profitable and required state subsidy to function.
