It's time for the annual year review and predictions thread:

  • What are your thoughts on 2025?

  • Was there something that didn't get enough attention this year?

  • What was the biggest W and L this year?

  • What are your predictions for 2026?

I've said this before but I think that 2025 will be remembered as the year when you couldn't trust anything anymore. Future historians will look back on this year as the moment where a growing number of people couldn't tell the difference between AI and reality.

2025 is the year when we started asking - Is this image real or AI? Is this video real or AI? Is this person on the internet real or an AI chatbot? Is this person on the dating app real or an AI chatbot? You can even have a voice call where the AI chatbot can fool you.

I already hate this reality when you can no longer trust your eyes. If you cannot trust anything or anybody, it's gonna have horrible consequences on society.

Yeah it's really depressing and I have no idea what to do about it. I've accepted that I'm going to be a Luddite about this issue but it's baffling to see family members willingly outsourcing their thinking and creativity to their phone. I don't know how Im going to remain tolerably 'normal' about this as it gets worse.

Humble brag: I nailed most of everything minus Ukraine. He even brought up clean coal in the last two weeks.

Edited to add: I thought most of this would play out over 4 years, not in less than 10 months.

Yeah like, the most shocking thing about 2025 is how fast shit has happened.

I was definitely too used to politicians preserving norms and traditions. Embarrassing.

Personally I don't think anything is going to come of the Epstein stuff. I could easily see it fall into the realm of like JFK disclosure and whatnot, with the real info being destroyed and nobody ever fully knowing the truth.

Stranger Things, Wicked, and no Epstein?
