I know, I know, a lot of 90s anime and media in general write women like this but for the love of god writers have more than one joke other than "Oopsie poopsie accidental pervert! Haha, women are so hysterical, irrational and b*tchy! Am I right fellas?"

    I'd say yes, and also no. Eva is aware enough of what it's doing to have reasons and payoffs for some of the fanservice, but that doesn't change the fact it's still doing it.

    All of them get fleshed out more, and the horniness gets dialed back a little if I remember correctly, but the show keeps the male gaze the whole time.
