This shit is so dissapointing. I have been considering firefighting because I see it as a useful and respectable profession but the culture is abysmal. Every time I see a first responder tent or table at an event I'm at I'll see pigs and firefighters being all chummy. It honestly makes me respect them so much less.
Guy across the street from me used to be a firefighter and now he's a cop; there's a lot of that kind of back and forth between them.

tbh depending on the place those wildfires should be active. most of turtle island is fire ecology and fighting every single wildfire for the last century is part of why fires or so much worse now (along with logging and global warming)
