It came from a Harry Potter Lego Advent Calendar. My kids didn't build them right away, and squirrelled them away until recently.

Damn thing drew blood.

The LEGO survived.

The foot didn't.

Wow, Joanne just really hates everybody, doesn't she?

Looks like the piece also got damaged in the process

[-] [email protected] 24 points 6 days ago

Which piece? My heel? Because yeah.

Judging by the pattern of stressed plastic, you maximised your pain - Well done.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 6 days ago

Yep. I was going to comment that LEGO is made out of amazingly hard plastic, but this one has clearly suffered the consequences.

Just some weeks ago, I talked with a friend about how in every Post about Lego, someone just fucking steps into the comments and knows the exact ID of some obscure piece or set shown.

And now I see your comment ๐Ÿ‘

In this case, I knew it because of a "botanicals" set that I assembled recently.

Those sets use a lot of pieces in creative ways, often in unusual colors. In particularly obscure cases, like this crown or the rose petals that were originally from a car fender, the manual will include a brief trivia callout.

I remembered the callout, and that was enough to find it by keyword on the fan database sites.

I think it's almost a matter of reverse engineering the info.

OP said the set.

Rebrickable > search > input op's set > parts list

Also used as a caltrop too apparently.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

Can I buy a bag of these to deter alley cats from using the fire escape as a highway?

[-] [email protected] 0 points 3 days ago

I believe that's a crime against catmanity

every lego is a caltrop

[-] [email protected] 17 points 6 days ago

That's gnarly. I assume the Harry Potter calendar mimics the traditional advent week 2, where Mary and Joseph throw caltrops from Mule back as they flee the evil census takers on their way to start a new life in Bethlehem.

I thought this was the worst until i stepped on a Barbie high heel. Basically a needle

[-] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

I legitimately collapsed to the floor after stepping on a D4. It drew blood & I've been afraid to use it since.

Type G (British) electrical plugs. Childhood trauma right there.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago

I stepped on a thumbtack yesterday and this somehow looks like it would be less comfortable

My condolences

That is a thing of pure evil.

Big Lego is trying to kill parents that buy these sets. Know the dangers when you see them!
