Do these idiots not know that they are the government? Who do they think is doing this?

[-] [email protected] 52 points 1 week ago

They know their base are braindead cousin fucker conspiracy theorists. They're doing this to make the cousin fuckers think their party is doing something.

[-] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago

The problem is that republicans have courted that demographic long enough that they're now electing the braindead cousin fuckers to congress.

I was gonna do a "How dare you talk about ___ that way!" bit, but I got overwhelmed by options and couldn't decide

"I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion, and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids."

Big Farmer is putting deer in my John!

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

The irony: I once drove into a deer with a John Deere

[-] [email protected] 44 points 1 week ago

Don't get distracted. Epstein!

Do new oil and gas leases qualify as weather modification? What about clear cutting forests and draining wetlands?

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

Oh they're keeping - and expanding - those.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Data centers, fracking, fossil fuels

I found some of those weather machines.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

"Stop controlling the weather" = "Stop imposing restrictions on weather controlling behaviors".

To them it makes sense.

[-] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago

This is what happens when expertise is simply dismissed.

Don't elect morons kids.

[-] [email protected] -1 points 1 week ago

We don't get a choice.

[-] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago

Lol.

What else are Republicans going to do?

Govern?

[-] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago

Calling it right now, when global warming gets so bad that nobody can deny that we're causing it, any of these bills that pass are going to stop any attempt at climate control.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

That's probably the idea. We should agree that weather modification is bad, pass these bills, then turn around and define oil and gas operations as activity designed to modify weather.

[-] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Republicans: Climate change is fake

Also Republicans: All these weather changes must be human intervention!

[-] [email protected] 16 points 1 week ago

Once again, they're calling for the government to stop messing with things, when the actual problem is the private sector messing with things.

The governments of the world do not have secret weather fuckuppery cannons. And if they did, it'd be pee in the wind compared to the literally industrial scale weather fuckuppery cannons the industrial sector runs all day every day very publicly.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

No, but the government is, ostensibly, the one entity with the power to reign them in. The problem is that capitalism has superseded democracy, and is a direct challenger to it as a form of, or superstructure to, government.

It is incompatible with democracy, as money is power, so the more of it you have, the more power over society you wield, a concept that stands in direct conflict to the very foundations of democracy.

Capitalism and democracy are mutually exclusive methods of running society.

They don't actually believe in those things. So the question is, what riders are coming with those bills?

[-] [email protected] 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

They’re blaming themselves so they don’t have to blame the CEOs pulling the strings

[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

The government is pushing bills to stop the government???

Found the waste.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

Because they can't accept that climate change is a thing, without seeming "woke".

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

they have been denying it for decades, especially with CHRISTIANS.

In a letter this month, Uthmeier warned publicly owned airports across the state that they must be in compliance with the new law, which requires public airports to report planes with weather modification devices to the state, and suggested that weather modification may have triggered the flooding in Texas.

“Because airports are most likely to catch those who seek to weaponize science in order to push their agenda, your compliance with these reporting obligations is essential to keeping our state safe from these harmful chemicals and experiments,” Uthmeier wrote this month.

So airports now have to report every fossil fuel or fuel cell* airplane and only purely battery-electric planes are allowed? Have fun shutting down every Florida airport. ;)

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Great! They're accidentally banning fossil fuel

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Does that mean the Republicans are going to reign in the lax laws they passed for industrial waste and pollution, and the gutting of the EPA? That’s the government’s weather modifications…

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

I can't wait for one of these to have an interpretation that limits use of ICE vehicles.

“They’re upset over what they call chemtrails they see in the sky,” Greene said of constituents who have contacted her about the issue. “They’re continually upset about it, and they’re engaged on it.

All you really need to say. Greene points to albedo experiments and cloud seeding, and then says shit like this. The legislation largely passes in states with no mountains (like Florida) and thus no desire to cloud seed and increase snowpack. It's just free outrage generation for the other Republicans, but Greene is all in on it. You'll never see states in the rain shadow of the Rockies pushing this though(other than complaining about California doing it on the windward side is removing what little rainfall they get). Wyoming has been doing cloud seeding since the 50s.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

The dipshit xtian qons always go on record and say stupid shit like "only (my) gawhd can change deh Earth; humans are being arrogant to think they can do it. Dat's up ta Jezuz." when it comes to climate change, but now they are pushing this?

Do they even bother to be internally consistent any more?

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Why the fuck are they prioritizing weather control, when they should be legislating against the lizard people?

Fucking Republicans.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

it was chemtrails at first, some of the lizard people are senators, ted cruz, the most prominent one.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Oh my fucking god. They are so close to getting it. Just that final step...

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Private cars are the natural law of the free market only where government subsidies don’t underwrite their costs. So, if correctly implemented, this law would end government subsidies of gasoline and roads, as well as planning mandates for automobile infrastructure such as parking spaces. Also, air travel will get a lot more expensive.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

An invaluable opportunity to label "global warming" as a "deep state conspiracy" was missed...

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Sounds like something that could be used against something that creates unnecessary emissions like big trucks

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

No, they word it as “the primary function is to modify weather” to avoid this

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Imagine if they'd put that much thinking and effort into doing good...

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

There is got to be a way to glue some googly eyes here somewhere.
