So he's threatening political assassination now?

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 hour ago

That's the world we live in now. Just breathtakingly stupid motherfuckers wielding power and influence that is galaxies beyond their ability to manage or even properly make use of.

He's just mad no-one calls him supreme leader

[-] [email protected] 29 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

He's the Supreme TACO, with extra taco seasoning applied to the face.

This isn’t the US’ war, why would Trump be making any demands?

Edit: I just saw that Trump has posted that the US is involved directly with the war.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Let's see, a war to distract from an unpopular Republican president. We've never seen that before...

[-] [email protected] 30 points 7 hours ago

I hate so much 2000's election. W Bush shit on the Constitution to such a degree that now Trump can get us involved in a military affair, not with the explicit consent and will of Congress, but with a fucking tweet.

Gwb you started this, that and the rigged supreme Court. If I were of voting age back then I would've rioted. I asked my dad why he didn't, despite being a huge 2A proponent, and all he could give me was less respect for him.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 6 hours ago

I thought Reagan started all this? Or Nixon? If only we could agree (not that this matters literally at all at this point) in who actually started us down the path of fascism. It's so hard to keep the demagogues in order these days...

Or we could just agree that shit's fucked and we need to do something about it without trying to point fingers or blame on any specific person in the last 60 years who is already dead and long gone.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 hours ago

Maybe they did, but 2000 and 2004 were the first elections I was truly aware of, and intelligent enough to know something should've been done. I voted for the first time in 2006 and haven't missed an even year voting cycle since. I stopped asking my father why he didn't support peaceful protests happening in areas near to him about 10 years ago, and cut off all contact 6 years ago. I've not been more at peace since

[-] [email protected] 7 points 5 hours ago

The CIA started it in 1953 by overthrowing the government of Iran.

[-] [email protected] -1 points 5 hours ago

Yeah. Nixon being forced to resign was the turning point.

[-] [email protected] 29 points 7 hours ago

I honestly think that he's trying to get Iran to blockade the Strait of Hormuz to drive up the price of oil, to the benefit of Russia and also U.S. oil producers.

[-] [email protected] 19 points 7 hours ago

Yeah hes doing everything he can to ruin everything Biden did to improve the economy.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Well, considering he's had a hard on for nuking Iran since before he was elected the first time...I didn't think he cares.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 hours ago

Also, we all forget he tried to gin up a war with Iran in his first term. Wartime presidents tend to stay in power, and he knows this - wartime protests would also give him an excuse to use the military at home like the blunt instrument he sees them as.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 7 hours ago

This isn’t the US’ war, why would Trump be making any demands?

Because he sees a chance to profit. His war or not, Trump wants his cut. Or else. He's got a right on his cut because he's the president. The best president ever. Everybody knows that.

[-] [email protected] 24 points 8 hours ago

Please Make Eric Trump theater commander of US forces in the area. It would be beyond parody and I will wake up from the nightmare laughing.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 7 hours ago

He'll get servicemen killed. It won't be funny.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

Their fault for refusing to disobey illegal orders.

Their fault for not deposing the fucking scum that America allowed in.

[-] [email protected] 27 points 8 hours ago

Huh, why would Iran surrender now?

[-] [email protected] 14 points 8 hours ago

Israel and trump appear to be claiming to have defeated the Iranian air defense, and achieve air supremacy over the Iranian capital.

If that's true then Iran is in deep trouble, and inviting them to surrender wouldn't be unreasonable. I very much doubt that it is true, but that's what they seem to believe

[-] [email protected] 4 points 4 hours ago

From what I've seen from western media, Iran is a paper tiger and are pretty thoroughly getting their shit smashed in. How much is distorted or kept from us, difficult to say.

The claims of Iran shooting down (multiple) F-35s seem unsubstantiated and bogus. The pictures of them are very obvious fakes. Those air defenses they have/had apparently weren't up to the task.

That said, as duplicitious as Trump and Netanyahu are, an invitation to surrender looks like an obvious trap.

[-] [email protected] 23 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

The US has had air supremacy in every conflict it has been in for a long time and it hasn’t won a single one of them. It would topple the Iranian regime with a ground invasion, but air strikes won’t do that. And the US would certainly lose an insurgent war just like it did everywhere else.

[-] [email protected] 0 points 6 hours ago

Judging from all this I think the US will just kill the theocratic dictator Mr whoever and let Israel do what they want to do next, so there's no winning or losing here to the US at least.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 6 hours ago

Given that the regime has been around for fifty years, I really doubt that killing the head of state would destroy the state. They have a much deeper bench than that I would assume

[-] [email protected] 0 points 6 hours ago

At least they won't be state level threat anymore.

[-] [email protected] 12 points 7 hours ago

Remember that Iran is still controlled by an extremist religious regime they are ready to die. They will never surrender

[-] [email protected] 3 points 7 hours ago

Well, they’re at least ready to let their population die.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 7 hours ago

Israel always continued aggression in their war. Like during the nekba they destroyed hundred of villages after arab surrendered

[-] [email protected] 2 points 6 hours ago

Israel and trump appear to be claiming to have defeated the Iranian air defense

Yeah we know they will claim that no matter how far they have to stretch words.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 7 hours ago

The Dealmaker everyone.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 7 hours ago
[-] [email protected] 4 points 6 hours ago

The Iranian regime are a bunch of cunts but they’ll never surrender. They’ll throw their kids to the wolves before they surrender.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 6 hours ago

Peter Thiel and his US Installment is well aware of this.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 8 hours ago

I wonder why the US didn't allow Israel to target him outside avoiding escalation with Iran.

Maybe the pentagon had a different plan to overthrow the government, and killing him would only reinforce support for the IRCG?

[-] [email protected] -1 points 8 hours ago

US didn’t allow Israel to target him

This was either never true...

Or Chump envisions playing "good cop" with Iran...

I'm going with the first one as the second requires some level of planning and strategic thinking that Mafia Don Mangolini simply does not possess and simply could not comprehend if someone attempted to explain it to him.
