I'm a latecomer to helldivers 2 so i've been plugging away at that - my fav enemies are probably the bots, which are described as "mindless, bloodthirsty robots, coded for nothing but murder and socialist violence"
I found this old copy of Magic The Gathering Duels Of The Planeswalkers that fans had uploaded and updated to run on windows 10 and I love it! I'm kind of ass when it comes to mtg and I just dabble with newbie green stompy decks and burn red decks but the ai can be tweaked to difficulty and it's even got a single player game (which is too hard for me).
I was going to download some Tomb Raider games today but I was too tired to do it.
Yo this is tight!
Hey, @EstraDoll, it's like Cockatrice but automated
I have been abandoned on my family Valheim LAN server. The deer god? Hunted. Treebeard? Let's just say that the Black Forest burns in the fires of (proletarian) industry. Now is the time of suffering... Now is the time of swamp ass.
I am getting really sick of not being able to find any sunken crypts for my irony-poisoning habit, and I'm not sure how much longer I'll give it before I say fuck it and pull up a world seed explorer. I really want all my shit moved to a basement before I get raided by trolls; draugr alone were problematic because I've been holding off on perimeter walls until I get a stonecutter, and the little shits invaded during a rain storm.
I recently figured out a better way to stream games from my PC to my living room TV, and it's unlocked a new, more comfortable world of gaming options. I've been bouncing between Talos Principle and Saints Row 2.
I never played a Saints Row game, but I recently got a bunch of them free in giveaways, and people I respect hold the SR franchise in moderately high regard. Edgy misogynistic late oughts humor aside, the game isn't very good, but that's kind of the appeal, IMO. Compared to modern (and maybe even contemporary) releases, it's a scrappy little game that does a fair bit with what little it has.
"TABLETOP GAMING COUNTS!" CORNER
My WFRP group played a section of Death on The Reik with very little plot structure and proceeded to chew the shit out of the scenery. Probably the best party role-playing we've had since the original incarnation of this group. Also the slayers formed a union.
Saints Row The Third is the best Grand Theft Auto game ever made
Ring of Red (PS2): Alternate history mecha tactical RPG where doesn't drop the bomb, the USSR annexes Hokkaido, and the USA and USSR split administration of postwar Japan into North Japan (under USSR oversight) and South Japan (under US oversight with lots of contractors brought in from Germany
). You control two test pilots field testing two new mechs and a North Japanese ace steals the third and sparks a conflict. It's basically Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory mixed with an alt history Korean war - kinda janky, but the setting is interesting enough!
KotOR 2: Got back into my dark side gunslinger play through. I'm enjoying playing with the influence system to twist everyone on the ship into evil freaks
Commenting so I can remember to look up this game later, it sounds hella interesting and something I've never heard of for PS2.
I'll let you know that it's kinda mid (if you lived through the PS2 era - you know these games), but it is kinda cool in a fairly unique Japanese RPG. It's also probably not 80+ hours like most modern RPGs, which helps for me - "mid, but interesting" works well for shorter media for me!
I'm pretty sure the Germans involvement may be a "wow, cool German tank/robot" thing, but intentional or not - it's some tasty world building to me.
When two units meet on the tactics layer, there's a real time combat layer that involves managing distance (certain units excel at particular ranges) and weapon reload times. There's also infantry units that accompany your mechs - adding another layer to the mix.
If that all sounds cool - give it a shot!
Kinda mid but shorter is right up my alley. The combat sounds unique which is what really peaks my curiosity. I tend to play games long enough to get a good feel for their mechanics unless they have a great story that keeps pulling me along so I'll be on the hunt for a copy of this. Thanks for the recommend!
I finally finished the Mario Kart 8 coin grind so I'm going to finish LSD: Dream Emulator and then the OS4 Shadow Of The Colossus remake. And then I installed new batteries in all my Pokemon carts so I can restart my catch 'em all playthroughs of those.
played some armored core 6 with a friend for the first time in a while and it was so much fun as always. love that game and its even better when you can talk to the person youre playing with/against
I FUCKING LOVE GIANT ROBOTS. I WISH I HAD A GIANT ROBOT. GIVE TRANS WOMEN MECHS 2025
Can't stop playing Warframe. Just missing Yareli Prime and then some prime weapons and I won't need to run relics for another 3 months.
Dune Awakening. I normally don't like these kinds of games but I'm a big Dune head and although it needs to break lore for thr sake of fun, the aesthetics are all there. I'm about to build a body juicer to uo my supply of water.
Like all games in this genre though, it runs like garbage and its kinds frustrating to go from butter smooth gameplay to 20 FPS stuttering in the middle of a gun fight or when trying to outrun a worm.
Good to see I'm not alone in the performance category. I've got a decently beefy setup and the game will just freeze on me for 20-30 seconds with an occasional crash. I assume it doesn't like running on Linux? Still super fun though. I've been getting distracted gathering materials for base building while occasionally running out to do a side quest so my progress is slow going.
I'm also running Linux, so that might have something to do with it, but I also see performance complaints from people I assume are Windows users on .
I'm playing with one other friend and they're super into base building, whereas that's not really my thing, so I go out and get the supplies from raiding camps and they put it all together. It works out.
But yeah, I read they were working on performance improvements for the next few patches before addressing complaints people have about stuff like PvP, which I haven't participated in yet. Still only in the 2nd/3rd zone and haven't unlocked all the classes or anything.
Sounds like I'm a decent mix in play styles between you and your friend lol. Good to know about the upcoming performance improvements! I could care care less about anything PvP related unless that's just where most of the spice mining happens..I'm purposely going in pretty blind so I can be pleasantly surprised by various aspects of the game.
I started Deltarune Chapter 3
spoiler
I love how Tenna is just a mocaped 3D model it's so fucking funny when he roundhouse kicks the credits
I've been playing Gem Miner TD demo, it's like an old warcraft 3 mod, that has you building a mazing and being given random towers to protect your miner. I adore it. Very eager for the full release.
Mostly been playing Lies of P dlc that came out. Too me about ten hours to replay far enough to access it which was a good refresher for it because it is harder than the original game. They've thankfully added some difficulty settings that give you damage reduction so you can last long enough to learn some boss fights better before dying after missing two attacks. I've really enjoyed the settings, (a zoo and a carnival were awesome) the bosses less so, but probably because of the constant dying. They also really enjoy throwing a mini boss with more health than you can burst through and they can two shot you. I've died more to those mini bosses than the actual bosses. Pretty fun though.
Finally beat Half-Sword's demo today, avoiding polearms because they're a crutch of mine. Took me 36h, and the reward was definitely not worth it but it was very fun. I've wanted a physics based fighting game for a while.
Other than that, ArmA Reforger with the fellas, Tainted Grail, and Rimworld.
Edit: oh, forgot. Finishing my prep for a Savage Worlds campaign set in Tamriel. I'm feeling kinda burnt out on prep since I had to do a fair amount of homebrew and a lot of hand drawn art (fuck AI), but I think it'll be fun. Hopefully my players are half as invested in it as I am, though their excitement might've waivered somewhat due to the time it took to prep it.
ys X has managed to wrest my attention from train sim world 5
it's very good, like pretty much every falcom game
Playing the new PoE league, but the servers have been crapping themselves so I didn’t play as much as I’d like
Got my ass kicked in a Super Smash Bros. Melee bracket today. Other than that I started OFF a few days ago, I finished the first two zones but haven't played since then. I'll probably continue it soon though.
