You should clean your sink. Someone spilt pasta in it.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Just pour cheese or sauce on top and eat. Then when you are done you have no dishes and just need to rinse the sink

Have you never seen a bottle brush? If not, get one. It'll change your life

[-] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago

I've never seen one that looks like it has been used as a toilet brush and never cleaned. I do love my clean bottle brushes though.

To me it seems like that the lighting is probably making it look more yellow than it is (looking at the white towel on the bottom right).

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Yeah, but change it how? Maybe it'll run away with your partner.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

I prefer my life to be unchanged, thank you very much.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Yeah feel like there is some context needed. Is OP pissing and shitting in that sink?

[-] [email protected] 31 points 1 week ago
[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

But not with a toilet brush!

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I'm sinking about it

and to think all lemmy users live like this

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

I wish I had a dedicated serving trough. Just have to make do and eat them from the pot they were cooked in.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

That’s the picture I submitted in my Lemmy account application

why were there so many beans in that context

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

There's always the appropriate amount of beans unless there's not enough beans.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

That looks intentional.

Your side dish said "pasta la vista, baby".

I have one of these:

I love it, much better than a normal strainer.

(And it doesn't take a lot of space in the drawer or dishwasher)

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I just googled for "flat pasta strainer", as the one I have was a present from my dad and I don't know a brand or name.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Nice Googling, cutie. I will do the same, via Duck.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Pasta in this picture doesn't look cooked and probably the water is not hot as well since they added a smoke effect.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I grabbed this pic from Amazon to show the strainer. It's not how I cook pasta. Tbh probably every Chinese product is being shown with a sloppy photoshop pic, nowadays.

What is this grill in the sink? Is this a thing

[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

It's definitely not required, but ever since we got one I've grown to like it. If you have a ceramic sink it helps prevent scratches. It also helps dishes stay put, like pot lids that normally slide around. Most of all I like it when I put a strainer down. I know the strained liquid won't touch the sink and flow back into the food, even if the risk was low before.

Yep, the sink is ugly.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

That there's why I always cook 6x the amount of pasta I need!

Just joking, it's impossible to judge how much pasta I need.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

i usually just make a lot, pasta is good as leftovers so might as well make a ton as the effort is about same

Invert the strainer. Put over pot. Drain. Pasta stays in warm pot. Then add your sauce. (Doesn't work well with rice noodles or other things that need to be cooled down quickly).

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Tiny bit o' mac and cheese? 😕

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Someone needs to clean that sink before your pasta goes down the drain...it'll go faster.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

If your sink was a bit cleaner, you could just scoop it up

[-] [email protected] 18 points 1 week ago

I'd never do that, even if I just deep cleaned my sink.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

sink is steel, just like the pot you just used to cook the pasta, if it's clean it's clean. if in doubt rinse the pasta.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

It's less about how clean it actually is and more about how I feel about it. Same way that I wouldn't eat anything that fell into a brand new unused toilet. Like, it's clean, but... nah.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Has the sink been heated to to 400 to kill everything? Well maybe steel is steel isn't quite applicable in this context.
