inb4 this post is removed for a reason not in the rules because one faction has a clear logical and ethical point while the other endlessly Marvel-quips in response

We should start c/unsubbed where people can post about how they unsubbed to their most hated communities while totally being not mad

I am absolutely at least a little mad about having to block extra bad comms. Who said I wasn't? Do we still do the "u mad haha" thing

One would imagine that, given the option, one could block the comm and move on with one's life silently.

Blocking something and then announcing it is just looking for sanctimonious validation so you can feel special and superior about your big powerful choice to not look at something you don't like. Like places such as r/justunsubbed.

I'm not implying that's what OP is doing btw. OP is doing a useful PSA.

Why would one imagine that? People can share things they do without trying to feel superior. Getting so annoyed by a comm you have to block it is frustrating, and relating frustrating experiences with others is a good feeling and can be a good thing to do.

That just sounds like some Facebook level "I'm better than you because I'm so in control of my emotions" stuff.

Why do people have such a hard on for making comms for fake news and renaming them so I have to keep blocking them?

I was on facebook the other day and someone actually said that to me. They said "I'm better than you because I'm so in control of my emotions." I said to myself, this is absolutely some facebook level stuff.

reminder because i brought it up in another thread:

if you got banned from a comm that you subscribed to at one point, you then can't block said comm in the manner in this screenshot

go to https://hexbear.net/settings or click your username in the top right and click settings. from there, there's a "blocks" tab where you can manage any user, comm or instance blocks
