no worries guys, we can just go buy the american-made competitor with no tariffs.

If you mean Microsoft, I think they will also raise prices just because. They did it recently.

We're cooked no matter what.

Even the American competitor sources all of their components from outside the US.

Xboxs's aren't made in America

And that's why we're cooked.

And then they will lower the prices when the tariffs stop right? Right?

If they have to compete, which it looks like they will in some capacity, then it's totally possible.

Thanks Trump

You guys realize you don't have to buy these things, right? When they raise prices you don't have to get angry and still buy.

It's possible to be dismayed at price raises that don't affect you, because it will affect others. I was never in the market for a console and do not anticipate buying new electronics anytime soon, but I am sure that this will sadden others who find themselves priced out. Besides, I don't know what the future holds. Maybe an existing electronic of mine breaks and I find I need a replacement, so the price hikes will touch me.

In this case, the anger may or may not be focused at Sony, as tariffs affect far more than just the PlayStations we already weren't buying.

This is what got me about the RTX 50 series cards from Nvidia. People with 4090's getting upset at the prices and lack of supply as if they must purchase one.

I wouldn't buy at the current price, raise it as much as you like.

There's just not enough USPs to justify the cost to me, regardless of how shiny the graphics might be.

I want to want it, but it's going to have to do a lot more than it currently is as a platform.
