"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

Republicans don't care about hypocrisy but they know that liberals and Democrats do. In fact, they get gleeful when they know they are getting away with things that they know Democrats never would.

Pointing out Republican hypocrisy does nothing to change their behavior and I would argue only emboldens them.

This is correct. They don't care. It's just in-groups to protect and out-groups to bind. It's "what's good for me right now?". There's nothing deeper.

By any reasonable metric they are bad people

as soon as the outgroups are gon, they turn on thier own in-groups eventually.

Oh yeah, I think that's part of the fascism standard set. Like first it'll be non-christians, and then catholics, and then the "wrong" kind of protestants.

There's some political cartoon that was like

Gay man pushing a trans person off a cliff. nazi smiling.

Gay man: "Glad we worked together to get rid of the trans menace! What next?"

nazi: [keeps smiling]

Gay man: [concerned expression]

nazi: [pushes gay man off the cliff, too.]

Side note: I hate how markdown doesn't do linebreaks unless you add two trailing spaces on the end of the line, or add a whole ass extra line break.

White* immigrants don't count.

* for specific definitions of "white".

And she lied on her “Einstein” green card, because she fraudulently claimed to be a genius.

I hope she spends her golden years mucking out hourly motel rooms by the Ljubljana airport.

An immigrant came to America, committed genocide on the local population with armies, then claimed the land and, using black slaves, built a new country. After a big ass civil war the ones who wanted to be free of taxes and monarchy won, officially declared independence and named their land the United States, and further built their empire with blood, sweat and minorities' tears. At what point between the 14th century and 21st century did the European inhabitants of what is now America stop being immigrants and started being national citizens? If foreign ancestry really matters to Trump, how many generations back is he willing to go?

MAGA followers don't know what America is, or who they are. Obviously.
