Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.
Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.
What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.
By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

I disagree. Tearing down the very concept of the truth, and making everything a fact-free free-for-all where whoever has the loudest platform can convince everyone of whatever crazy nonsense and then people will run with it, is exactly their goal.
Russia actually, in the early days when they were deploying this stuff for regional politics, used this to great effect. They would propagandize for themselves, for their enemies, for random other points of view, they would fund opposition-aligned organizations and promote big messy fights, until people couldn't tell up from down anymore. Truth matters. That is the only solution, to me.

I don't know, but people are saying that he does.
He hasn't denied having a broken penis but he has denied being a Nazi.
If we assume he either denies all false rumors or denies all true rumors we are left with two possibilities.
He has a working penis but is a Nazi. He has a broken penis but isn't Nazi.
Hopefully he denies the penis rumor soon confirming both are true since he's clearly a fucking Nazi.
The other option is he's truely afraid of people knowing he broken penis thing, but the nazi thing is just free publicity.
If he didn't want people thinking he's a Nazi, he wouldn't have thrown the Nazi salute twice in a row on live TV.
The problem is, this is stupidly infantile when there is so much to legitimately criticize him for. I despise seeing people making meme-sults against oligarchs because, for people on the outside looking in, it looks pathetic and just sounds like those making fun of them don't actually have any legitimate complaints or criticisms and are making shit up out of desperation.
Imagine trying to lay out why Musk is terrible; from his slimy business practices, to his meddling with elections, to him costing countless thousands their job, to his distain for the common man... And then some greasy fucking edgelord thinks it'll help to stand up and shout "AND HIS PEE PEE BROKEN! STUPID, GROSS PEE PEE MAN!" It's just fucking embarrassing.
To be a successful communicator, you have to understand your audience and speak in terms they understand.

The majority of the electorate will respond to the latter. Use the tools that work, not the ones you wish would work.
Just because you wish it was true, doesn't make it so.
Look at how the right attacks the left. They call them criminals, they call them lazy, they call them bad for the economy and corrupt. They DONT make up schoolyard insults like broke pee-pee. Because that would be pathetic as fuck and completely tarnish the message they're trying to stick to.
