Could you please just spend the 5 seconds it takes to get the original image instead of one taken by screenshot that has an overlay on top of it? I'm tired of seeing your posts with the same overlay. It takes effectively no time or effort. I would rather have fewer posts on Lemmy than lazy posts like this.

MAGA: "IT'S NOT A NAZI SYMBOL! IT'S THE SYMBOL FOR SPIRITUALITY AND GOOD LUCK AROUND THE WORLD!"

Looks like the new Tesla logo.

No no, see, it's an upright "s" with a sideways "s" going through it. I've also got an alternative:

He was probably referencing the one on his tattoo on a mirror?

That makes it the ancient religious symbol that Nazis were originally copying.

The swastika exists in both orientations and any rotation, but the Nazi-symbol was the flipped version of the one depicted.

Yes, so reversing it makes it actually the original religious symbol, and NOT the nazi symbol.

This "orientation" debate is pointless, especially since Elon is absolutely the type of shithead to do that for plausible deniability, but even further:

They weren't copying the Hindu/Buddhist/Dharmic symbols, though you better believe Aryan theorists had opinions on it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

In form, yes, but the intent is clearly for it to be the Nazi symbol.

Because it's precisely the sort of thing Elon would do.

His fans, including his ego, will call it genius.

Everyone else knows better.

Fascism comes in different flavors that reference each other, but are never quite the same. We're seeing an unfolding of American Fascism that has its own shape and plays out its own way.

...but it's always fascism, regardless of the society is emmerges in, and each society needs to defend against it in its own ways.
