Does anyone know of an indirect or mirrored source, just wondering if it will go down. Obviously the way back machine, but I'm not sure if it will pull the databased side of it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Not really, I just looked at it, They're behind cloudflare so scraping them would be painful. Tried hitting the api and unhinging location and distance, they hard cap 250 results. Js is required to get the results. We could go zipcode by zipcode, in the browser with GPS coordinates (available for free) but there are 33k zipcodes and if anyone hits more than a few, cloudflare is going to robot check you.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Zero promoted businesses in my zip code.

Nice.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Same here, which is kinda surprising since I live in a heavily conservative area.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Only had two places in my area (heavy POC area so... Awkward), but I've left my "review." I've never been to either place, but at least I know who they are so I can keep avoiding.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It's hilarious. There's a bunch of reviews on Yelp/Google maps calling those businesses out in my city.

Want to support MAGA? Tough.

Suspicion of "gang related" seems to be the excuse they use to deport the quickest.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I have communed with the dead, and they told me that there's gang related activity happening in those businesses.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Wouldn't you need to put your name and other tracking in there

Which then ICE would then watch you and do who knows what to an American citizen

[–] [email protected] 1 points 12 hours ago

Luckily, I'm not located in the US. But yeah, you should take steps to obfuscate your identity.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is it just me or does Don Jr. Look like Harry Ellis from Die Hard? Only with even less charisma and double the sleaze.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Imagine being named Donald jr. Gross.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Go fash, lose cash.

Complete tangent:

“PublicSquare is basically the Green Book, but for conservatives,” this TikTok user, who goes by dapper.delinquent, says in his video. “The Green Book was a book passed around Black communities that was a list of stores and businesses that were safe for Black People to use. PublicSquare is the same thing for conservatives.”

If you make an analogy, then have to explain the thing you are comparing the first thing with, what is the point of the analogy?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

what is the point of the analogy?

it's a historical example , which not everyone is aware of. those who know understand faster, those who don't learn more about events that actually took place.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not only that, but what the fuck is wrong with conservatives that don't feel "safe" at other places? How are they even the least fucking bit in danger of anything?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Conservatives are perpetual victims of perceived threats that don't exist in reality.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

You're not even joking

It's the same internationally

There are also some Right wing people on construction sites here in Australia who can never accept responsibility. And it's always right wing

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

If you make an analogy, then have to explain the thing you are comparing the first thing with, what is the point of the analogy?

The explanation is about as redundant as a third wheel. You know, the awkward extra person tagging along with a couple on a date.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Ahh, the Streisand effect in action.

[–] [email protected] 55 points 2 days ago (13 children)

I wanted a similar site but to track houses with Trump signs up. Have to upload pictures for the record, and cross referenced with MLS listings/sales so everything is expunged on property transfer.

No particular reason to keep this info around. Just a curiosity.

USA voter registration including party affiliation are public record. https://protectdemocracy.org/work/why-is-voter-registration-data-public/

Building the sort of database you suggest is a very double edge sword though. Use of personal data to persecute people is a tool of fascist. Persuading people as it is currently used by candidates and their proxies is arguably part of democratic (the arguably part is that humans don't make rational decisions due to cognitive biases, so it is not a fair choice if presented with manipulated information), but it is a way to distribute directed information in this modern age.

We need community and more engagement, not less and isolation. I empathize with the outrage response, but suggest it's worth being careful in actions that take the form of the enemy.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That would drive them absolutely batshit insane

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In my head I called it The Scarlet Letter and the logo was a giant red burning T.

Not that I have put thought into it or anything 😅

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 days ago

Burning T...

Time... Time to go...

wake up honey, new BDS list just dropped.

but seriously I like that there's a list of "maga friendly businesses"... because up until now the fascism has been too subtle.

Full on ROFL.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago

Damn a restaurant I like is on this stupid site. It's surprising because most of the stuff in my area that's on here is like realtors, explicitly right wing businesses with patriot in the name, or like when you go in there it's all thin blue line flags and shit. This is just a normal restaurant with normal decor. I'm not really surprised the owners are apparently Trumpy, pretty much all the business owners in my area are, I'm just surprised to see them on this site

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 day ago

Hah! I appreciate them making it easy on me. Mostly just real estate offices on it near me.

[–] [email protected] 105 points 2 days ago (8 children)

Well shit. The landscaping company we signed up for this year is a MAGAt apparently. I'll be shopping for a different company now.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Make sure you let them know why.

Make sure you tell them why you're firing them, and post a review on their Google page. Dont mention the quality of the service, just that you dropped them for their treasonous support of MAGA Nazis.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 2 days ago (5 children)

I'm on the fence about telling them why. I have zero faith that losing me as a customer will make them reconsider their political position even if it would make me feel better. What it may do it make them remove their add from the MAGAt site meaning we lose the warning signal to others.

As far as leaving reviews pointing out there MAGAness, I'm in a red state and that may help them. They love their martyrs, so I'm definitely skipping that step.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Yep. I've been looking at that site for any businesses near me to know what to avoid.

[–] [email protected] 220 points 3 days ago (12 children)

lol. This site is comedy.

A lot of MAGAs registered in my county. A county Trump only got 21% in.

Why the fuck would you slap a MAGA sign on your business when 80% of your potential customers hate that shit?

[–] [email protected] 120 points 3 days ago (4 children)

When you've convinced yourself that your parties membership is like twice the size it actually is you make great decisions

Any way we could keep a historical record of these businesses? I can foresee them doing a full cleansing of their internet presence as they lose business.

Scheele's, a big sporting good store, is on there. I switched to other options.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Odd, the Scheele's by us is not, interesting that a big chain like that would allowed certain locations to sign up for something like that
