Check out the album Glitter by Pasteboard. It's some good Japanese Shoegaze.

(we don't need this) fascist groove thang
Egg by Mr. Bungle.
Penelope Trappes, specifically her new record A Requiem. Lovely stuff, the album closer in particular gives me Lisa Gerrard vibes
Scuba "Three Sided Shape". The album (Triangulation) is really cool, too!
Destiny Potato
The Heavy / Short Change Hero. I just discovered them a couple weeks ago and this song has been stuck in my head ever since. I do 30 minutes on the exercise bike every morning and I just put that song on and belt out the lyrics to it at like 6:30am, much to the dismay of everyone else in the house, but they can suck it cause that song is just so goddamned singable.
Lucid Planet II https://youtu.be/pzdvidK-w4k
psychedelic prog rock
and I'm still a little stuck on Dax Riggs' 7 songs for spiders
...but I just can't believe it.
Then some folks on Lemmy pointed me to Tipper so I've been hearing Forward escape for a few weeks.
smattering of new fleshgod apocalypse and persefone.
Time for you to get into some American Football Never Meant (music video)
Fit For An Autopsy
More specifically, their new album just came out, The Nothing That Is, it slaps so hard I haven't listened to anything else since the CD came in.
Their Dogs Were Astronauts - Progressive, Djenty. Hard to pick a favorite track or album.
Opeth - Started as progressive death metal but they have gotten more chill and progressive and experimental over time. Favorites for me are Blackwater Park (on the harsher end of the spectrum), Windowpane (chill end of the spectrum), Reverie / Harlequin Forest.
The newest album release by Unlease the Archers
Love music that contains storytelling
The Deli
I recently discovered the band Mar Malade and its really great!
Kygo. Just really really good music (especially the latest album "KYGO" and "Thrill of the Chase".
Northern Portrait.
Latest album is titled “The Swiss Army” and was released in 2022.
Hmmmm Not exactly what you are asking about, but i love the energy of "Kickstart my heart" by Motley Crue and "Get it on" by Turboneger.
Both starts hard sang continues in the same fashion. I want more og that energy and rhythm.
"Stand up and shout" by Dio is close, but it feels tiny bit harder/faster.
Anybody got other songs in the same vibe/ energy. Not a slow build up. Just 1-2-3-4 rock!
"Ha de sarar" from Maro
Zoomst They have one studio album and 90 monthly listeners on spotify but have a great prog sound. Aweizawei is my favorite from the album so far.
doseone’s new album with Steel Tipped Dove is EXCELLENT. dose deserved so much more fame than he got.
rest in peace, Alias.
Aviators, I like a lot of their game inspired music such as A Thousand Eyes, inspired by Bloobourne and some of their personal creations such as "Godhunter," and "My Church"
The new Deafheaven album is amazing.
Snooze - I Know How You Will Die - Out of left field discovery. They have a really diverse sound scape. It's mostly metal but does a good job of not following a set genre of metal.
BCNR - Forever Howlong - is a grower, not a shower. At first I didn't really like Tyler's songs because she left absolutely no room for anything to breath. But I've done a 180 on them as I find her voice so soothing.
Stromae & Pomme - Ma Meilleure Ennemie
Some days I just listen to it on repeat for hours.
The Hooters - 500 Miles
HappyHappy: Cream Cheese. Song
This is my favorite new to me song of the month: https://pearlcharlesmusic.bandcamp.com/track/does-this-song-sound-familiar-12-version
tagged as rock, desert rock, folk rock, garage pop, psych folk, psychedelic pop
For me it's a track by an artist called tuki:
