I don't understand the "be shitty to food service worker" attitude.

They do realize its the people making their food, right?

You don't even have to be a nice person, just be pragmatic, act nice.

Don't die by poisoning.

Maybe they just like the taste of boogers and cum.

A brilliant, topless lawyer taught me that it is unethical and illegal to involve people in your kink without their consent, so even if it gets them off they're not allowed to do it.

Lost my wallet today at a grocery store full of church dressed people. Locked the cards, then saw two usage attempts on two different cards. Of course, maybe it wasn't one of the people who had just came from church...

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

It could easily be someone who goes to church. My church has a community meal and a food pantry, and a lot of people who are welcome and who come for church services are homeless or food-insecure or addicts. And honestly anything that isn't locked up walks away way too often. Jesus called for the church to serve the hurting and broken and needy so it shouldn't be a surprise. You know what though? A lot of those people are willing to volunteer time and even give a little when they can.

But the rich assholes that don't tip and treat their servers like shit, they usually don't help the church at all in any way. Maybe they throw in $20 a couple times a year to appease their conscience. Continue berating them by all means.

I mean you don't know. While you're getting all new stuff....try a phone wallet app. I only have 1 physical CC in my wallet plus some cash if needed. The tap to pay uses a dummy CC#, it's very secure, so even if stores get hacked your info is safe. A lot of people don't know this...phone wallet app is very very safe.

I have 1 physical CC but have access to all 5 CCs via phone wallet app for tap to pay.

Also recommend a small front pocket wallet. Easier on the back, it's less prone to slipping out/getting stolen, and if you're looking for a brand-specific recommendation I like Trayvax with its 65-yr heirloom warranty. It's a wallet for life. 🙂

Good on you locking the cards via their apps. 👍👍👍

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Actually how I paid for groceries. I've also already replaced the card via app and it was instantly available for my wallet app too. Gonna try using that more and see how comfortable I am with bringing less or no ccs with me. A few stores I hit still can't tap, but they are much less now.

As for the front wallet, kinda actually the issue. I haven't put my wallet in back pocket for years. Most of my pants have a zippable side/leg pocket that I put the wallet in, but today I wore different pants so used front pocket, but using a belt clip on the pocket lip(the main wallet on the inside). I thought I'd feel if it came out but I was wrong.

I still will go for something small, and likely never use the clip part. I'll check out the brand you mentioned.

Don't forget to condemn the local homeless guy for asking you to spare some change while he also happens to own a cellphone.

what do you mean the 20 of us can't sit together without a reservation?

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

We'll just push that 4-top, 4-top, 6-top, 5-top together and make a table at this server station while blocking fire escapes.

No better way to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord than by not tipping some waitress who makes $3.00/hr.

[–] [email protected] 86 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Or they “tip” with that fake Christian money

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 day ago (4 children)

What did americans "invent" now ?

[–] [email protected] 95 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (5 children)

This bullshit.

bullshit

There’s scripture on the flip side.

[–] [email protected] 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ive told this story before so heres the short version. In high school I had a part time job at a dinner and some Kristian Karen Klub came in and tipped with these fake bills. It had the church name on it, which happened to be on my way to school so the next day I just went and shoved them in their donation box.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That looks like a 2015 youtube prank 😂😭

[–] [email protected] 43 points 1 day ago

It’s super funny to boomers who never had to live off tips.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

They've been tipping those for a very long time. I remember the first one I received was disguised as a $100 bill well before YouTube was a thing. Even almost 30 years ago we fought over who would work on Sundays because they would abuse 16 year old buffet workers back in '98.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

This would make me want to communicate nonverbally with said diner's neck.

Never seen one in person but I would certainly spit in anyone’s face if I ever did see someone leave one.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No reasonable jury would convict a person who presented that note as part of their defense in a murder trial.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Not a single person handing these out has actually ever the read the bible. Calling it.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago

Hell, they probably can’t even be bothered to read the full piece of paper they distribute

Don't blame this on Americans in general. This is a small group of religious cunts doing this.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You're not wrong but also the only reason this is a real problem is because of American tipping culture

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

the problem is our bosses, and too many people too broken to stand up and fight them

That should be illegal, it's like using counterfeit cash that only needs to fool your server long enough until you're out of the restaurant.

"Omggg I can't believe they make you work on Easter! That's awful...

... anyyyywayyyys, I'll get a double gecko burger, and uhhhh, a side of quail eggs and a large diet Dr. Weasel... thanks!"

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 day ago (7 children)

This church group used to come in sunday afternoons. No reservation. At least 12 people. Separate checks. They'd sit for over an hour and have a meeting with their pastor. None of them tipped or if they did they rounded up to the nearest dollar.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

I'm not all the way through The Righteous Gemstones yet but I can't believe they haven't done this at that restaurant they go to after church.

Working at a restaurant right now, on break. Can't wait to deal with all of these lovely people!

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 day ago

I’m sorry. Sundays are already bad enough but Easter Sundays are so fucking brutal.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 day ago

We open at 1pm today. Not looking forward to the Easter Sunday buffet crowd...

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago

You KNOW they are going to "tip" you with one of those gospel tracts that look like a folded $100 bill.

I worked in retail for 7 years. Every damn Sunday we would get at least one customer in their Sunday best turn into an impatient, vile, insulting human being towards us because of something in the weekly ad or whatever. I wasn't particularly religious despite attending Catholic school for every grade until high school graduation, but this solidified my loss of faith even more.

Oh, and it was a tiny bit of an influence on me becoming an alcoholic too! Yay!
