Today is a feast day so to honour my culture , the past, the Seagoons and myself I am cooking a feast of luscious cheeses and crackers, good drinks, a salad, and chicken cooked with nutmeg , parsley and parmesan cheese in a tomato sauce served with egg fettucini. Peaches and apricots for desert.

I am just about to put my make up on. 🙂

I planned a friend outing for this evening and honestly I don’t know why I bother. I’ve been getting slow responses during planning, slower than usual, feels like I’m forcing these people to hang out with me. They can say no? Maybe I’m reading too much into this but it’s consistent with other things that have happened recently which make it feel like we’re distancing. Don’t say I didn’t try if these friends aren’t in my life in future. I don’t even want to go anymore.

Met the new neighbours who are moving in soon. 4 cars and 12 people got out lol. Guessing they'll be loud going by them leaving their music blaring from their cars as they were parked and yelling over it to talk to each other. It's a very quiet court.

I don't mind at all as my little studio down here can go LOUDER I hope they like poorly made drum and bass.

They seem nice though and it's good to see the place finally getting used after 6 months vacant.

Oh man, I unleashed on the broom rider (MIL) last night. An awkward start to the long weekend.

One thing I love about country's towns is how people still dress up for lunch. Young lasses in their new dresses, mum and dad all ironed, trailed by awkward boys in their collard shirt and best shorts. It's nice

After having it recommended constantly for years, I'm finally reading Lonesome Dove. I do believe it lives up to the hype...

I have decided once the lease on the new place is signed I am going to celebrate by buying a new lawn edger, hedge trimmer and the fancy brushless motor for my whipper snipper. I aim to make the garden so neat people assume it's no longer a rental 😁 It also means I'll be able to properly edge my 3m of nature strip here as a parting gift. Hopefully because the edger rests on the ground it won't kill my arms as much as the whipper snipper does. With a much bigger garden to look after (and a 2-strip of concrete driveway, so lots of edges) I anticipate building up lots of muscle. 💪

Has anyone here done adult swimming lessons?

I took lessons from about age 3 to 13, but that was a long time ago. Also, I was stuck on the same level for about three years, never really progressing, probably because of dyspraxia. The last time I went swimming in the ocean, I found it really difficult to keep myself afloat beyond just floating on my back, which is not conducive to activities like snorkelling.

I've had to part ways with my legend of a barber-to-the-stars after his (very justified) price increases. I'm not on consultancy salary anymore.

Not every 'do at Just Cuts has been a winner, but each time I end up with something slightly different and it's kinda fun getting a different take on a bog-standard men's haircut. This month's is nicely textured and sits really well on my head straight out of the shower.

Also these eggs from Aldi are so good, what a Reese's peanut butter cup would taste like if it was made with good chocolate and peanut butter.

Good morning, in further public holiday brainrot developments I went down the path of reading about Zizians (already vaguely knew about rationalism and MIRI and that insanity). The intelligent mind truly can go to some insane places. What the fuck is this shit

I'm picking up an armchair for free from Marketplace this morning. Similar style wood frame to my couch, and with a new cover with the same fabric I've been recovering mine in it should blend in fairly well. This will solve an issue in furniture placement in the new place, I will be able to have the couch and a single chair in the dining/lounge, and two chairs in the sewing/sitting room. Or if something goes wrong and I don't end up getting this place I'll have an extra chair I don't have room for 🤣

I think I'll sell my buffet unit. It's a really good solid piece of furniture that makes me feel like I should find it a place, but it really doesn't fit anywhere. Plus it is really heavy and because it is so long has limited options on where in a house it can go. Which makes it hard to get out too, it has to go out the back and out the side gate, which means I would have to lock away Mr Woof, traumatise Miss Meow and let a stranger into the main area of my house. I might just get the movers to put it in the carport when I move, then I can sell it as unattended pickup.

I thought to just download my OneDrive files onto my computer, back them up and unlink my pc so it couldn’t fill that storage back up again. Well downloading my stuff isn’t working. They download as zip files that only contain error and .txt.

I’m also now being told I can’t send or receive emails because I’m over storage and have to pay for more - recurring subscription of course.

It’s so very convenient that they force your files onto their cloud (removing them from your computer) and then somehow the process of getting them back is obstructive. Really slimy.

I may end up having to pay to get to the task later but this is making me seriously reconsider Windows.

Microsoft prey on fear uncertainty and doubt. Also on compatibility between organisations. The only reason I don’t walk for Linux is 1. I want to make sure I have everything first and 2. because I’m not confident of being able to reliably make everything work as I need it to.

I think I prefer the mornings to the late evenings.

Have been crashing fairly early the last 2 nights despite being able to stay up late.
