Makes sense why Trump was so serious about Greenland. He's serious about cutting ties with China and that means he needs another source of rare earth materials.

How would the US even annex Greenland? Are they going to put boots on the ground? This administration doesn't believe in soft power anymore, so they aren't going to do some rigged referendum.
They already have a colonial outpost there because the Europeans who own Greenland as a colony are mega lapdogs of US imperialism
Exactly. From a military perspective, Greenland is already a de facto part of the US empire. Trump will probably try to pay off the populace so they vote the correct way in a referendum. It's not like Greenland is full of Danish nationalists
The Seps already have boots on the ground in Greenland, though.
